This young man has no vision. Look at Hyundai. Hyundai started assembling cars and building them around the same time we were assembling the Mitsubishi colt at United motors. So was the Upali Mazda. Hyundai was a Brisitish Hillman body with a mitsubishi engine and transmission. look where they are now. All I can say to this young person is , get off your lazy ass and do something productive for your motherland. Build something and sell that something. Easiest job in this world is to bring what others make and mark-it up and sell it to a captive audience. Look at the Vega electric car in Sri lanka. Look at the Mahendra being built in Sri lanka. Even the exhaust being built in Sri Lanka is something added to our country - some valuable skill and wealth to our future generations! You should not look down on that. You should be ashamed for taking the easy road get your money. Show you are selfish and looking after your interest only! Chamuditha, please do not promote idiots and lazy fools like this person- Give prominence to people who really do something for our country. Look at India, Singapore, even Malaysia. It's great that they have put a stop to imports for a while. I hope this will continue for at least another year and a half. Anyways SL doesn't have money (US dollars) to spend on cars at the moment. Until the flow of dollars to SL comes back to normal, the importation of cars should be banned.

අනේ ඉතින් උඹටත් පුළුවන් එකක් හදන්න. නැත්නම් අඩුම තරමේ නටි එකක් හරි හදන්ඩ.

මොහුගේ අභිප්‍රාය වාහන ගෙන්වන්නට ඉඩ දුන් පසු, මිළ පහතට නොවැටී ඉහල මිළක් පවත්වා ගෙන යාමයි. ඒ කියන්නේ අඩු සහ සාධාරණ මිළට වාහනයක් මිළදී ගැනීමට ඇති අහිංසකයන්ගේ බලාපොරොත්තු බොඳකර දැමීමයි.

He is no expert. Read below. It is sad we in Sri Lanka are in this situation. Importers are nothing but prostitutes for exporters in other countries. It does not do our country any benefit. This young man has no vision. Look at Hyundai. Hyundai started assembling cars and building them around the same time we were assembling the Mitsubishi colt at United motors. So was the Upali Mazda. Hyundai was a Brisitish Hillman body with a mitsubishi engine and transmission. look where they are now. All I can say to this young person is , get off your lazy ass and do something productive for your motherland. Build something and sell that something. Easiest job in this world is to bring what others make and mark-it up and sell it to a captive audience. Look at the Vega electric car in Sri lanka. Look at the Mahendra being built in Sri lanka. Even the exhaust being built in Sri Lanka is something added to our country - some valuable skill and wealth to our future generations! You should not look down on that. You should be ashamed for taking the easy road get your money. Show you are selfish and looking after your interest only! Chamuditha, please do not promote idiots and lazy fools like this person- Give prominence to people who really do something for our country. Look at India, Singapore, even Malaysia. If they all had the attitude of this young person, then there will be no Tata, Mahindra, Hyundai, Dawoo etc. Tradigy of Sri Lanka are these well to do lazy Sri Lankans. To the person being interviewed, please do not be so selfish. Do something valuable for your motherland without, wasting the little resources it has.

Big brand vehicle production companies never think about Sri Lanka. They need at a sizable least market or cheep labour and infrastructure. Only option is engage with them to supply components. Second stage is the production vehicles.

@@tharushakithsiri1153 When you say O mileage they are brand new motor vehicles, I suppose. They come with a full board package including all accessories. Even reconditioned motor vehicles from Japan consist of a cigarette lighter, floorboard carpets, and a tool kit. I am talking about what took place in the past, and to be very frank with you I am not aware of the current situation. There are technicians who can adjust the correct recorded mileage of the vehicles to a lower level to deceive the prospective buyer. I know that most of the importers manipulate the vehicles to be looked more attractive than the real functional value. I have had those bitter experiences while working for a Japanese vehicle importer in Sri Lanka some time ago.

Yes , they have started assembling MG ZS in Sri lanka cost 6 mil, so as DFSK, but the whole car body is brought down without buffers and exhausts,seats etc with under spare parts category with tax benefits.
