@@WillN2Go1 Tesla's are wonderful cars. They get under your skin every time you drive them. But there are some undeniable build quality issues. Having said that, they constantly improve so your car might be a lot better than the first cars that have come off the line. Fingers crossed!

Looks great! 🤩
Afaik that rear shelf opening is there to let air pressure out of the cabin through the flaps in the rear of the car. So check if everything really sounds ok when you close the door while sitting inside.
Yo whatzzzzz up.. always look forward to that opening line Bjorn!

Felix Klüsener Specification? Is there any official spec. available?
@kaasman78
3 жыл бұрын
@@wernert5643 no, the Tesla spec is unique to Tesla alone. It's a very flexible standard that can be applied to everything or nothing. And everything fits! And if it doesn't adhere to the Model3 version of the Tesla spec, according to Musk...your measurement equipment is defective. 🤣 Tesla tried to get away with a horribly mounted charge port on my 3...showed the employee behind the desk the gaps and asked if I can be an ambassador to the brand like that. It got fixed after that. It's not perfect, but at least reasonably good. It's Tesla...don't expect perfect, but it has to be reasonable. Paint out of Fremont is horrible on average. Hopefully my German Y (or 3?) in a couple of years is better with that. Paint looks great now after a professional detailing, ppf and coating job.

"did I misalign this?" ... "Nobody is going to know" ... Well, everyone that watches this video will know. 😂🤣😂🤣
It maybe more sound deadening rather than sound proofing. Sound proofing prevents the transmission of sound through the material, sound deadening generally changes the frequency of the sound, hopefully to something less objectionable, by changing the frequency at which the material resonates. But who knows?
I installed one last year. I turned the bass up on the stereo slightly. No measurements but seemed to reduce the rear tire noise slightly. Now I hear the front tires more. Maybe my imagination.

Ad-he-sion for the win👍👍
Opposite RR: You mostlikely will receive your Roadster(s).
It looks nice. I might have to pick up one of these. Seems like it might overlap the sharp edge at the seats. I bumped into it too. I wonder if it will keep hot air trapped in the trunk
Nice Job... great work.. BTW when fitting with 3M tape it’s much easier to fit the item with the 3M tape cover on and slowly remove it as you fit the item, never remove the tape mask all at once as the tape will prematurely stick in area you may not want and it’s harder to adjust after .. anyway you did great for your first time .. I like it ... do they ship to the US?
"I'm the opposite of Rich Rebuilds" 🤣🤣🤣
Not removing that seal nearly broke me.
At the last movement of the installing: you'd better remove the rubber sealing around. It pushed to the body of the car, it has a "U" shape. Then you stick the mats to the place, then the rubber sealing back. It must fit better than it looked like in your video.
7:29 hahaha...this dude is getting funnier 😂
I wonder if it cuts down the noise of the rear motor when it fires up. On the one hand I like the Star Trek-like sound the rear motor makes but sometimes its annoying.
They removed the "bass port" in the summer 2019 so wont do much different to the sound on newer cars. Need to have the seat down to bounce.
I hope you get more from youtube premium users like me who hate ads
Look good
There are major issues with this product (I installed this on my 3 as well). If you ever need to remove the "sound proofing" when you unscrew the fastener, the metal pieces will loosen within the upper deck and remain stuck in there unless you can miraculous remove it with a magnet. People have reported on older Model 3 such as Bjorn's, the rear deck has that opening. So the new lining does reduce noise. On later Model 3s, the opening is gone. On my car without the opening, the new lining installed, there has been no difference in noise but it does make the trunk look more finished.

Might be a bit late but I ended up using automotive retainer clips the push in type and 2 grocery hooks to attach the carpet so it's easily removable in the future. The 3d printed grocery hooks help hold up the carpet near the vhb. Noise reduction is minimal as Ironqqq said.
@ironqqq
Жыл бұрын
@@RickyJ137 oh that's a great idea to use plastic clips. I recently had to have my car serviced for the rear camera harness recall which the liner needed to come out. One of the screw retainers had to come out with a magnet. i haven't reinstalled the liner yet, but I will do so with grommets as you mentioned.
@RickyJ137

@@ironqqq it’s hard to find clips that fit perfectly (used a mix of 12mm ones and 15mm one for the larger holes). Added a few nylon spacers to hold the carpet on tightly. For the rear the carpet that is tucked in comes loose every once in a while.

Tesla should offer this and the HUD in their shop. It would make so many people happy.
I’d consider it. When packing lots of stuff, the baggage can scratch on the screws and metal parts. Is it an improvement in this regard? I see some screws are “sunk” while other still stick out. WDYT?
