Trumpeter AVGP Grizzly (APC) Unboxing

In this episode we unbox Trumpeter's AVGP Grizzly APC model. Our look inside the box reveals a nicely molded model with all the modern features we expect in a quality kit; PE, clear parts, easy-to-follow instructions, rubber tires, slide molded barrels and crisp, highly detailed parts. The kit sells for just $30CDN, and given the product's quality and features, is a very reasonable price. Make sure to check back soon for the build video!

Grumble in the comments? No way Tom! For my money your reviews are the best on KZread - the right balance of historical context, product lines, instruction sheet and what's on the sprues. Bring on the build video!

Our Grizzly in the C SCOT R (tagged as "LIZZARD KING") was amphibious (as long as the plugs where in) and we used it severl times.

One of the Trumpeter versions lets you build the amphibious version. From what I hear this feature was largely abandoned by the Canadian military.

@@stevieRay3211 i can say for sure that our regiment and the 3 ppcli had them. can not speak for anyone else. can say though, when in the dead man's seat in the back, when it hit the water, makes you very nervous. the 6 other infantry guys are ok, they where below and some times standing through the 2 top hatches

Looks like a good kit. Definitely better than the old Esci/Italeri LAV kits!

Hi JS, thanks for stopping by. It seems Trumpeter has cornered the market on the AVGP. Nice that they've kept the price so slow. The kit is worth getting if you want to build a post-WW2 military vehicle on a budget without scrimping on quality. We'll see how it builds up.

Thank you Leha. I ran your comment through a translator and seeing no cuss words we seem to be on good terms. Welcome from Canada and good luck with your own projects!

Thoughs are not engine compartment hatches. thoughs are troop hatches, for the soldiers to stand up through. The engine compartment hatch is on the front and already sealed up

Hey Steven, thanks for the note. Yes the Grizzly has a date with the bench but I have to put the finishing touches on the KV1 build and video first. I'll start the AVP probably in a week or two - can't wait!
