Trump counts every penny. He would never have consented to a $260K payment to Cohen for legal expenses when he could have gotten away with $130K for a disbursement unless he INTENDED for the payment to be RECORDED as a business expense rather than a disbursement. That's the whole case right there.

@@josefeibl8230 authentication is what's taken days and days of the trial because defence have refused to authenticate *anything*, even the most basic and obvious. It is now authenticated and corroborated. Many of the basic facts have now been corroborated several times over. It is not a weak case. If it was an ordinary person, with an ordinary person's limited funds to pay lawyers the case would have been heard long before now and they'd be in prison.

In my experience, going directly to the source is the only way to make informed decisions about a subject that interests you. Listening strictly to opinionated summaries (like Ari has given us today) is how we got “stop the steal” and the J6 insurrection. It is time every bit as well spent (for some) as spending that time - say - writing and/or recording a song. I have spent many hours reading full transcripts, reports or congressional bills in order to make an informed decision and be able to express my reasoning. This is historical in that it is the first time in American history that a firmer POTUS is being tried in a criminal court. It’s important and fascinating….and admittedly sad that we have fallen so far. I follow politics because It’s my hobby. That’s what I get out of it. I’ve had other hobbies more physically challenging, but the body fails and hobbies fall by the wayside. Knowledge is forever.

Many of them (including Cohen) have gone on to profit from that relationship. trump does no less. I'm embarrassed to say that I have read all of trumps books and the majority of the content is about people he knows and how he used them to make money for himself.

I am not so sure it's all about forgetting. Some of it wasn't even reported widely so wasn't even known about. Bill Barr's legal problems in regards to all this, for example, were probably one of the most famous yet those on the right are not even aware of those legal issues.

If I was Cohen on the stand, I'd refuse to answer any questions and just respond with "are you questioning the validity of my receipts"? It wouldn't be perjuring himself, just being uncooperative to the defense. I don't know how well that would work, but honestly if it started to not work and I was Cohen, I'd just fall asleep, the Trump defense.

I don't get the Trump lawyer's point? It's not uncommon for co-conspirators or partners in crime to testify against other criminals. Cohen's former and current behaviour don't change the facts on Trump.
