FACTS: "The Trump hush money case is underway in New York. Of all legal cases against Trump, this one is the weakest and most absurd of all. It involves an alleged misdemeanor on which the statute of limitations has already expired, in conjunction with another alleged misdemeanor on which the statute of limitations has also expired, both part of an alleged election interference conspiracy that other courts have already said isn’t a crime. Got that? Also, the bookkeeping violation supposedly involving election interference took place after the election was already over. Even liberal legal scholars can’t find a crime here." --J. Rickards

He is not on trial. No one is denying payments were made and even witnesses who like Trump are giving testimony that it was about the election. The documents corroborate that. What the jury is invited to ask themselves is not whether Cohen is a liar but whether money received which is the exact amount as the election interference payment made to Ms Daniels was made without any knowledge by Trump of what he was giving the money for when everyone else and not just Cohen knew. And that is one huge stretch.

@@herballycorrect it might be a fact that someone said it but it doesn't mean they are right or even honest. The fact is that it was alleged that payments were made to suppress unfavourable stories coming out solely because an election was coming. Now whether he was innocent or guilty has nothing to do with whether or not it is a crime in your country - it is a crime which is deemed serious as otherwise voters might have voted another way which would make the election undemocratic. And Americans tell me they are proud of a democracy which means if someone is alleged to have made that type of payment and falsified documents it is serious and needs to be investigated. You can disagree with the verdict after checking the documents but you can't support a claim that it is not an offence when it is.. that can be checked in the lawbooks.

What’s damming though is that Cohen has lied again in court yesterday . Costello cut Cohen down again …… Cohen is lying again because he had to,…. He flipped for them and he knows the DOJ he has the power over him. Even CNN have abandoned the ship.

Cohen is totally lying. Just look up his former lawyer Costello. When Cohen was on trial in 2018, he was desperate and suicidal, "I'm not going to spend a day in jail!". Costello advised him to give the prosecution anything he has on Trump. Cohen "I have nothing on Trump."

Just so you know, the person who they simply refer to as a “legal expert” , is a life long Democrat who ran for attorney general as a Democrat in Arizona just a couple of years ago. You would think that this information might have been disclosed, if informing the viewers was really the purpose of this segment. If your intention was to put your own political spin on what is going on in various political driven criminal cases, you would refer to him as simply a “legal expert”. If truth is what you are looking for, you might want to keep looking. My guess is, this post won’t last long before the people who monitor this comment section remove it, in order to preserve the fiction of their “journalistic integrity”. Sad.😔

Totally agree. The reasoning that the Dems have a tenuous hold on the senate and therefore putting that hold in jeopardy means there is no weaponization of the justice system to go after Trump is non sequitur. The Dems hate, and I mean HATE Trump. They don't hate the Reps in that way even if they dislike them. They would be more than willing to give up control of the Senate to be finally rid of Trump. BTW, there are a number of Reps that don't like Trump either. So this guys arguments do not lead to his conclusions.

I knew this guy was a shill when he refused to acknowledge that credibility and bias are problematic with a witness like Michael Cohen. You don’t have to be a Trump supporter or MAGA republic to understand and there are weaknesses in the prosecutions case and Michael Cohen is one of them.

I stopped listening as soon as he started defending Cohen and the prosecution. Cohen lied on the stand yesterday. No respectable lawyer would respect a witness who perjurers. Cohen said he called the Secret Service to inform Trump that he paid the NDA money. Phone records showed that he called the Secret Service agent to complain about a 14 year old prank caller who was pestering him.

I'm British and so not a republican nor a democrat and we have news that does not lean to either so I think I can help. - It is illegal in your country to pay money to someone to keep quiet about something that might interfere with an election. If the intention was to stop what the result might have been had the public known the information - that is a crime. That is what Trump is on trial for. No one is denying that the payment was made and people who like Trump have testified that that payment was about the election and the documents support that fact that Cohen was paid the same amount as he paid out to interfere with the election. So none of that is in doubt. There is certainly a case but the question the Jury is to answer is - did Trump know he was giving Cohen money to pay Ms Daniels or did Trump hand over money simply because he was asked to without knowing why - if he knew what the payment was for he is guilty and if he didn't... Well when we sign something in my country we are responsible for it, but in this case it is just whether there is some non liable reason he wrote the cheque. Any feelings about Trump as a person outside the case are immaterial to the facts or to the case most of which is built on documented evidence. We all have people in the public eye we like and political parties we might prefer but we must endeavour to not let that cloud our views of criminal procedure.

It is illegal to interfere with an election in your country by conspiring to suppress news stories and paying to do so and falsifying the evidence. It is deemed to be interfering with the democratic process by suppressing voters rights to make an informed selection by making sure they are uninformed. Whether you think .your former president innocent or guilty we know it is a crime. We don't have republican or democrat news in my country.. the TV news would lose its licence if it was not impartial. Americans don't seem to know what the actual charge and crime was. Seems unlikely that he could pay a man not even his employee that amount of money without knowing what it was for though. I wouldn't want someone who was silly enough to do that to be the prime minister of where I live.

🌈 Writing a name of your own choosing in the 2024 November elections sounds like a good idea . In any democracy citizens can not afford to be bystanders. Fellow citizens , Republicans , Democrats Independants , Undecided lets not take the DJT risk. There are to many red flags out there . In a vibrant democracy one needs more than two parties. 😊 This promotes the art of consensus and conciliation. It helps avoid polarization and civil unrest. 🤗
