And the government doesn’t really go it’s way to protect those freedoms. So yeah, legally, after the Dred Scott case and so many other cases where the US said “You descendants of Slavery are free and citizens”, they never actually protected them from any of the militias running around destroying what they might have built. It’s really sad that the mouth breather was probably taught that foolishness in school. Strange as it is, I have a feeling most White people either think like him or don’t really have any understanding of what it means to not be a protected citizen in your nation. My father’s family is in the census all the way back to 1715. All of them were in South Carolina. Why did they leave? Because the government did nothing to protect them, so they came to Arkansas of all places and settled with the homestead act. Then when they got here, they had to fight against locals to get access to lakes for their livestock.

The problem I have is when he said "we". First of all, YOU certainly didn't give them anything. Second, I know a ton of well-off black people that obtained their wealth the same way everyone else has... they worked for it. Go figure. But according to these guys, even though Trump got a million dollar loan from his dad, he still earned his wealth, but descendants of freed slaves were "given" their quality of life. Your thinking is backwards! That's the insanity of the political extreme; they visualize what they want and pretend it's true despite reality.

And that would logically follow that some rights should be taken away. Unless you want your neighbors "rightfully" murdering people. But when rights are taken away, there needs to be a damn good reason for it. And there is a damn good reason to take away the right to enslave other people, just as with murder, it interferes with people's right to live freely. That is why some backward southerners cite that the south fought for "states rights" but lie by omission what those rights were. They fought for the states' rights to keep slaves. Not all rights are right. Many are morally wrong.

Very few African countries are even on the precipice of attaining first world stature, and that would take Monumental investment in their economy from outside sources... Which you might see the effect of in about 40 to 50 years. Africa itself as a whole including all countries Within... Is a third-world continent. Egypt itself is doing somewhat alright, but needs much work with their now crippled economy due the Arab Spring, but they weren't doing very well before that either. South Africa is doing the best out of the bunch, but that's because of European and Australian investment.

The reason Africa is so impoverished is because European colonizers came in and took their entire workforce and all their money, split the countries up to create war zones, and crippled their economies. So no, if Europeans hadn't meddled in African business, then African lives would be much better off today.

Many europeans also didn't realize, that EPA (Economic Partnership Agreement) between african states and the EU was perfectly hidden by the politics behind the big hype about TTIP. I almost hate to say, that many Europeans even don't know, that such an "agreement" (what a word) exists.

@weed soup legit do research before assuming things about an entire continent. The only majorly impoverished portion of Africa is the northern, ie sub-suharan Africa. Also the Mali empire had one of the richest kings in all of humanity, (not joking Google Mansa musa) they had large natural deposits of gold but Europeans came in and took their gold, enslaved their people, killed people for no reason, and so much more. I can't for sure say that they wouldn't be impoverished today without Europe, but they definitely damaged them nearly beyond repair. Not even mentioning the superimposed boudries, forced trade, forced infrastructure (btw mud huts is not a sign of under development), introduction of disease, rape of their woman, killing literal children, and so much more. Pick up a history book and educate yourself lol.

@weed soup 1. Africa had civilization before Europeans. Fore example, Mali, Axum, Benin, Songhai, great Zimbabwe, Nubia, Congo empire, Kanem bornu, and thousands more. Which all had their own forms of organized democracy and architecture 2. Mud huts are not a sign of underdevelopment. Many parts of Asia, South America, and Europe used so called mud huts. If you knew anything about ancient Egypt (which white people like to claim so much) you would know that they ALSO used mud huts to keep themselves cool. The materials Africans used differed depending on region 3. No ones is completely blaming Europeans for Africa’s current state, we are just acknowledging that most of the affects were negative. Putting enemy tribes into the same country so they can fight each other, forcing African nations to keep paying colonial taxes, killing off leaders that attempt to do anything good for the people, claiming we have no history while keeping a majority of that history in your museums. The former president of France said that if it weren’t for Africa, France would slide into the ranks of a third world country

@@pioneernut7487 I'm not comparing racism in the US to anti-Semitism in Germany, just as you shouldn't be. They are very different with different historical significances. You are headed down dangerous territory. Additionally, do not presume danger-serious danger-does not exist simply because you haven't heard about it. I'm Jewish. I hear about it. I know about it. There being anti-Semitism in Germany does not take away from the brutalities of the United States towards people of color. I'm confused as to why you think this. They're different and to compare them is inappropriate and very dangerous.
