So they probably were keeping this in their back pocket to release and distract the same day as the Wikileaks "October Surprise." It did work, but, the leak wasn't really even that bad, just confirmed what we knew. What will hopefully happen is, since there's nine more Clinton related leaks coming, this Trump thing was their ace in the hole, but that Wikileaks is just getting started, and the dems wasted their heavy hitter on a relatively minor leak.

Assuming those allegations are true, then sure it matters. Just not in this context. Bill isn't even the opposition. He's not running for president. The Stanford kid is a rapist too, and that matters too. But how do either of those things let Trump off the hook? Neither does anything to exonerate Trump for being a rapist too. The whole "well HE did it too!" argument doesn't really hold any water as an acceptable excuse among intelligent adults. It's right up there with "I know you are but what am I?" I've heard much worse. The more shocking is that there are people out there that are so over-sensitive, overly PC and hypocritical that THIS is what passes as news now. He made some inappropriate comments during what he thought was a private conversation over a decade ago. He has since apologized for it. Who hasn't said something they later regret? What more is there to really talk about? This wasn't my point though. My point was the recording. Last time I checked blackmail was illegal in the US.

1. Joking about sexual assault is not right in any circumstance. 2. Trump has been tried/accused multiple times of being a rapist, including by underage girls. In fact, he'll be in court this month for one of the charges. If this was a black man (such as Bill Cosby, who is TOTALLY guilty), I'm sure more people would be concerned. The only reason Trump hasn't been convicted is because he has the power/money to make charges go away. That's what lower class and middle class Americans should be upset about.

This is really bad, publishing a private conversation and talking about it on air and not even mentioning once that it is somehow weird invading somebodys privacy like that. Of course politicians are public figures and Donald Trump has set the ethical bar very low in this presidential race. But as a journalist, I believe that the media isn't allowed to follow that path by not caring about privacy anymore.
