Ist time offender is the correct language. You need to be convicted of an offence in a criminal court to be an offender. Civil court is not the same thing. Your argument throws out the whole innocent until proven guilty part of our legal system. I despise Trump as much as anyone. But the law is the law. And we need to protect that. Without it an accusation would be a guilty sentence. No proof needed. Imagine cancel culture taking over the judicial system. You might think you want that until someone accused you or someone you love of something they have no proof of. Or GOP controlled states start locking up women because they cheated on their husbands w/out any proof of such. And much worse. It's a really slippery slope once you change the rules and language.

How would TFG get a security clearance if elected as a felon? What if he is convicted of the federal crimes he is charged with, especially since several are for stealing classified documents?

Two things affect sentencing, accepting responsibility for your crime, realising that you committed an offense and showing contrition and whether you are likely to re-offend. Trump has done none of this and has in fact shown no remorse and has throughout sought to attack the judge, his family prosecutors and the witnesses and jurors. He has said he would re-offend if the same circumstances arose. People who commit murder are often first offenders so being a first offender may not help if you have committed 34 felonies, nor will his former status as president. It is a principle of the legal system that the law applies equally to anyone who comes before the courts. Prison is more likely rather than less likely.

There are a lot more factors that go into sentencing than the two you selected. First time offender is one, trial publicity is another (usually more publicity means a reduced sentence because the social impact is already larger). And I’m sure that someone actually trained in this stuff could make ten times the list. Prison isn’t the most likely outcome, from what I hear from legal experts I’ve seen in the media, but it’s not out of the question either. Insulting the judge doesn’t help your case. And the gun ownership when you’re a felon is illegal, so that might not help either (though probably needs a case of its own)

He shouldn't get special treatment just because he once was a politician, and he shouldn't get special treatment just because it would be logistically difficult to treat him like everyone else.

Incarceration day in 23 days. His first offense was conviction #1. The other 33 convictions make him a repeat offender.

Adam, before i became disabled I worked as a corrections officer and i can promise you anytime we had high profile and even politicians they are not allowed around other inmates. All calls are redorded, all mail is read and i see no way he can share anything with anyone in prison. They will also only allow the most senior officers to watch him. So dont worry about him bribing an officer bc the new ones wont be allowed near him. Old school officers wont put their job at risk, most places have cameras everywhere so he wont have any privacy to try and bribe an officer. I would be shocked if he were even allowed near any other inmates at anytime. Im From TN

I will be shocked if the menace shows for the debate. He's going to use some excuse, even though agreed upon, the time limit to answering, muted mics, no notes, no audience and his "freedom of speech" is being taken away because he can't answer questions because of his "gag" order.

I don't think only foreign bots pushing negative messaging propaganda... we have nefarious internal entities also completely capable of those acts too

@@karmaalstad5588 I actually work in the Audio Visual industry on a corporate event level. Since Covid, Hybrid meetings are considered very common. It is as simple as using a commercial camera or cameras as the web-cam and sending the audio feed from the other side into the event sound system. Next we can implement the sound from the event i.e. microphones so the meeting can be two ways where the event will hear the broadcast and the broadcaster can hear the event. TBH, all of this can be accomplished on a smaller scale with a web streaming device such as an OWL...
