    On Soul Voice: Enel basically pointed this out, but it bears repeating. Each squad member has a label in their soul voice stats on what their focus is. Elma's is Melee, for example. This does not mean that Elma should only have melee arts or a melee build, but instead means that you, the player, will have more opportunities to benefit from having melee arts.

    It's incredible how each entry of the Xenoblade has its own thing that distinguishes it from the others. XC1 has its deep story and formidable cast of colorful yet not cliche characters, XCX has its beautiful vast fully explorable open worlds that put Skyrim and BOTW to shame, and XC2 refined the battle system to near perfection, making it accessible for everyone while keeping hardcore fans on their toes. And now that you release a video on XCX, I wish I kept my Wii U ...

    Does the combat get any better in XC2? Not trying to bash it, I’m legit asking. I put down the game after 20 hours BECAUSE of the combat; It was just too long and drawn out and I was not having fun with it. I could do the max combos like Gaia and that stuff, equipped the best stuff I could (with poor luck on new blades. The Gacha system is a sin), waited for the last hit of an auto attack to use high damage arts, and did the poppi game a ton too. I even figured out this auto attack cancel technique on my own to get my arts a bit quicker. I thought I was doing something wrong, but from the videos I saw (without spoiling myself) but the pacing seemed the same. I thought about grinding, but that doesn’t solve anything because enemies sometimes 5 levels behind take over a minute to fight (and remember, this is an open world rpg where you need to fight often) and enemies on par take 5 or more minutes it seemed. It just got so monotonous to do the same hit, hit, hit, art, hit, hit, hit, art, maybe switch blade, hit, hit, etc and only to do a fifth of its hp when all of us are wailing on it. I don’t know, I just miss the fluidity of it all from the first two games, and the complexity X had. It might just be me though.

  • @KrullerAX

    @KrullerAX

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@StarShade0 I see what you mean but I dunno, I think the combat in XC2 is slightly more engaging than XC1 and yet less complicated than XCX. For me it's a perfect blend between the two. The fact that some enemies have phases, the different combos, I like the Topple system from XC2 a bit better than the one from XC1. I'm with you with the Gacha system however. And that minigame farming for Poppi is obnoxious. And I can understand why XC2's battle system might not click with people, notably the fact that your auto attacks stop when you're moving. I love XC1 to death. It's my favorite game of all time. But the battle system feel sometimes a bit samey and monotone. Outside from those tough story battles, there are no particular unique monster or boss that really left a significant memory for me unlike XC2. I think it's because I prefer longer battles that XC2's battle system clicks so much for me. Take Territorial Rotbart for example. In XC1, on the same level as him, I beat him in less than a minute. In XC2, on the same conditions, the fight can last to 2 and a half minute if you're good and nearly five minutes if you're struggling. That's how it's supposed to be in my opinion, especially against a unique monster. In XC1, most of the unique monsters don't leave a serious impact.

    Let me tell you something: every weapon combo is viable if your build is decent. Knife/Raygun, Longsword/Gatling, Photon/Assault Rifile, anything. It’s really not a question of viability, rather it’s how easily do you want to win. Some things like Ether/Appendage Crusher and the infamous Ghostwalker are better than other options, but any option is a good one. The only things that aren’t worth your time is typically your teammates’ builds (post game), select skell weapons, and whatever you don’t need on your build. You can solo every super boss, on foot no less, with pretty much any setup otherwise.

    I’m glad you have made such a good tutorial for this game I think this game has the best combat system out of the 3 xenoblades but I know not everyone understands it because it looks Overly complicated and is not easily explained in game. Which I’m sure is the reason for the overly simplified combat system of xenoblade 2. And I’m sure I’m not the first person to say this but I can’t wait for a sequel to this game.

    I played like 50 hrs of the original xenoblade on wii but gave up cuz I was a kid and stupid. I played 240 hrs of xcx, I loved the skells and traversing the open worlds continents that are all conected. (Still didn’t get the combat) I played xc2 on release, finished it in 69 hrs on ez cuz I lacked patience and understanding of orbs and destroying said orbs to win all fights in 3 min max. I replayed xc2 this month(on an Entirely new account), spent 200+(on normal) and did a lot of side quests and some bosses. Still need need to do some blade quests, get some blades, and get shulk, Fiora, and elma. Started the torna expansion, but tbh I’m kinda burned out of the game so rn I’m playing Batman games lol I also purchased xenoblade definitive edition, hav yet to play it, don’t judge pls If it wasn’t for you Enel I dont think I would hav played xc2 again and experience it properly, I’m looking forward to watching your videos on xenoblade chronicles DE when I start playing it

    I got this game the December it came out for Christmas and had a blast with it, the decors are beautiful, charming and insanely stunning. The story is passionating and the characters are all different with their own personality, there is also a great sense of humor in the dialogues and interactions with the npc’s (those food-tatsu jokes will never get old to me). I got to the second-last mission 3-4 years ago and got stuck because I didn’t understand the combat mechanicks at all but I came back during quarantine and finally finished it thanks to youtubers who made videos on it. The finale blew my mind. Truly one if not my favorite game.

    Holy shit, the hottest video since a while. At the beginning of the game, everyone was like : read the manual. Indeed, so much information was in the manual it was insane. That was the tutorial. And yet not enough... This game was conceived to have information discovered and shared through Miiverse, but obviously that didn't happen. Only memes were shared. Lots of options and experimentation, but lots of hidden stuff too. There are plenty of cheap little tricks. I remember you can craft a cheap art TP V which is pretty much risk free and provides a massive early game boost. I definitively liked the open handed, experimental nature of the game though.

    I finished X last week, after playing it for two months and a few days. It took me 260 hours to get the 100% survey rate (killing the Telethia was a huge pain) and your video would've been so useful back then 😂 Even after playing for so much time and reading the manual, there were things I still didn't understand (mostly Overdrive, I'd just alternate between colors like a noob, I couldn't remember the combos haha). Stats are one thing I had to learn the hard way, thank goodness there are many videos and reddit posts sharing useful information - and now your video compiling a lot of stuff in one convenient place. Can't wait for the overdrive video!

    It's been lying around with me since 2015, but I've only played it for a few minutes. Now that I've managed to replace the English synchro with Japanese, modded the Wii U and converted the game back to a format that can be installed via SD card, I've also started playing the game. What I'm wondering though is if there's a mod to turn down the music. Because it bothers me a lot at times, especially in dialogues. Your guide is extremely helpful, I've hardly dealt with the weapon and armor modifications so far.

    Thank you very much, I haven't played the other Xenoblade before and since XCX used online I wanted to know what it was about. Thankfully I had help of some of these things work and taste a bit of the online stuff but sadly I was somewhere between chapters 8 - 10 the WiiU's severs had ended. One of my goals was able to finnish the game's story and play the rest in online. In the end I hope to complete the game but I've been just grinding to level up, since enemies are pretty brutal or not always sure what to do when stuck in combat byside run (if I can) when things go bad. One thing I wanted to learn the most was how to raise my TP. So yeah thanks again the extra detail in this video will help.
