Lol people hate on supreme without knowing anything about it. Supreme is only expensive in the secondary market. The Strat retailed for $2,000 which is the upper end of average for an MIA Fender. There's less than 100 in existence too so it makes sense that resellers would hype the price up.

I can't remember exactly how much they wanted for it, but it was somewhere in the region of £10,000 and all i could do was close the page and try not to cry. Edit: also which Geneva convention? Sammy...I started my journey with the guitar in 1981 with an inexpensive nylon string Classical Guitar. It’s all I could afford. My next guitar was a Korean made Hondo, a red Strat copy. When I was looking to buy it, hanging next to it was a 2 pickup guitar that was shaped and painted like an M-16 automatic rifle. The pickup selector was shaped and labeled like the safety/semi-automatic/full automatic selector lever on the actual rifle. It even had a the raised front sight on the headstock that served no function except to contributed the aesthetic. The bridge was fashioned to look like a rear mounting point for a sling. The guitar came with a rifle style cotton web sling that mounted on the butt plate and the upper bout to the “rear sight”. The guitar was painted all black and marketed to punk rockers for the same $125 price. At the time I thought it was cool, however I wasn’t a punk rocker and I wanted to be taken seriously. I bought the Strat copy.

My most memorable horror guitar was an American Les Paul Classic which had a snapped neck. The owner had "repaired" it with a metal plate, sticking the two ends together with bolts through the wood. Sufficed to say it didn't stay in tune.

I occasionally watch woodturning videos as I find them soothing. I once watched one where a guy encased a bunch of nails in urethane, or whatever that plastic stuff is, and then used the lathe to turn it into... something or other (it was a long time ago). That could work for a guitar body.

  • @charlesbolton8471

My first guitar was a natural Peavey T-15 bought brand new in 1986. In 1988, I traded it for a guitar that was a copy of a Gibson Explorer. I still regret that to this day. The Explorer copy was by far the worst guitar I’ve ever owned, but I thought it looked cool (at the time) and it sounded decent. On a positive note, if I ever decide to buy another T-15 (and I have seriously considered it) they sale for about the same price today as what they sold for when they were brand new. The whole Peavey T Series of instruments is very underrated.

I would honestly love that guitar at 2:55. I enjoy ESP guitars, like that body shape, and it's just such a fucking weird guitar that would be interesting to play on stage lol. Edit: Not sure why the hell it's relic'd though. I think relic'd guitars have their place on the market but a custom painted and upgraded ESP is a weird one to do that to.

Don't forget there are some famous 'horrific' modded guitars: ZZtop fuzzy white spinning explorers and the heavy player-modded EVH Frankenstrat. All it takes is for some famous player to spout out that trimming off the upper horn of your Tele makes for the "bestest awsomze toanze" and all the players will be doing it.
