Honestly. I was sitting here ticking off all the red flags and wondering why this guy wasn't a little more skeptical, even fell asleep in a stranger's car! I just can't even imagine doing that in a million years, even if I were drunk or high or whatever. People really need to teach guys more about stranger danger.

All dating apps should come with some intro/help vids about, how to be cautious and date people in safety. Just some tips n stuff. To have a backup friend to pick em up if date stood up. To tell a bro/buddy, that if they don't reply/call them in few minutes, call the popo or show up, at location where they got the date set at. For the first few dates, do not meet anyone in private or lonely places or at unusual times. If one feels the need, get a background check done about the date and later let them know that. Maybe give them your background info too, to consider it even. Better to apologize for being paranoid, than being targeted by a trafficker. If play store started banning dating apps that don't have such help/guide vids, then all such dating apps would start making such safety vids. Cuz there are people who genuinely just don't understand how to navigate through online dating or what to be aware of.

Mostly parents will think men can take care of himself and wouldnt be in danger. Thats the problem. the boys need to know too, even if their parents never told them that, you guys need to know danger is everywhere.

I’d have to disagree, but hear me out. Firstly I absolutely love this channel, and the animations. It sounds like I’m contradicting my initial disagreement but I think it’s not the animations that make this channel and his video so appealing, but his voice. See, the animations are OKAY, nothing amazing, i mean that with full respect. However his voice is perfect, easy to like and listen to. So I think it’s not the animations that make this channel the best but his voice, wouldn’t you also agree?

@@LordEyepatch Pretty sure the story is fake or the dude was like 13 and changed it a lot, no way had he actually gone and finished highschool but be this d*mb and naive. 1. why would he tell a random dude any of what he was doing and where he is headed, especially at night, i would politely tell him to buzzer off which is the sensible thing to do. 2. How could he possibly buy what the man was telling him about being relatives with her, would she really send him all the way out to tell her date she ain't coming instead of just sending a message herself? and he would just agree to meet her date in the middle of the night to escort him home and deliver the news? yea that makes sense... not. It was so obvious he was the dude pretending to be her instead. 3. So he just gonna take a casual nap in a stranger's car too? man is really asking to get kidnapped.

The dude said “We went to the same school” and not once did it run through his mind to say “Ok what school did we go to” y’know just to be safe. Then again he did WALK to a park late at night to meet a stranger, and get in a random man’s car and give him his address so guess you can’t trust his judgement 🤦🏾‍♀️

it's obviously not a true story anyway. he managed to undo the child lock -- but the door has to already be open to do that. plot hole, not to mention somehow there being a KNIFe randomly on the passenger side of the car.

@@omsmada GOSH I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed that part about the child lock. I had to pause the video there to leave a comment cuz it bugged me so much. This story is so blatantly fake, haha. I thought at first the knife had come from the KID, which would make more sense--I knew kids in highschool who had pocket knives because they thought they were cool, so I would buy this kid having one even with as dumb as he was for the rest of the story. But just... finding it randomly on the floor of the car? Really?

Wow this hits every beat -finds match of a girl with same interests and location as him -she says she knew him -she says to meet up and "go back to her place" -she never shows up -man comes through and says "yo that girl i know her from somewhere she aint coming, want a ride home" -protagonist goes into the car and gives his address -protagonist falls asleep in car and wakes up when man "takes a shortcut" -protagonist instantly recognizes this is a kidnapping and conveniently has something and hits kidnapper then leaves car -protagonist hides but kidnapper has flashlight -protagonist runs -kidnapper chases after but he boomer protagonist zoomer protagonist run faster and hitchhike outta there -protagonist goes to police but oopsies doesn't remember license plate -kidnapper major kidnapper everyone wants him -police never finds him so no news articles to back up the story this is like every single dating "true horror story" ever

I too always wondered why almost every one of those online "almost kidnapped" types of stories you see on the r/letsnotmeet sub and those narration channels always followed the same plot beats and formulas.

@@bushmorel7343 At least this one doesn't have a third party (usually a friend or family member, but sometimes a random stranger) conventionally swooping in by chance at the last possible second, and stopping the abduction. Usually in such stories, it entails them yelling at the would be kidnappers, which is apparently enough to scare them away. Followed up by the narrator lamenting "if [x] wasn't there that day, who knows what could've happened to me."

"Meet me at a park at 9:30pm at night" That alone sounds very alarming. I go on lots of walks, and many men in like their 30s pull me over to offer me a ride. I never get in despite being 26. I look 17, so who knows. Recently a guy who went missing in his 20s was found dead. People speculate drugs were involved, but the guy had a pretty good life going. Went to robotics, had lots of friends, and a good reputation. He was last seen telling his parents he was going out for a walk to clear his head. So I doubt he was under some drugs. I think he got into a car with a stranger when he didn't want to walk back

When I decided to check tinder, I couldn't cuz they ask me to allow my location they didn't let me check anything only if I turn on location , but those scary stories made me think more and more about this

Oh yeah what a true story. -Girl went to his same school and the guy doesn't naturally start talking about the school to make conversation (since Tinder convos are always a bit awkward, talking about a mutual experience or background is a natural way to make things feel less awkward). -"The girl" doesn't even try text the guy herself to let him know that "her dad" is coming to get him. If this dude was so experienced at kidnapping people, you'd think he'd have done something like that. -Guy tells total rando where he lives and how to get here. DOWN TO HIS EXACT ADDRESS? -FALLS ASLEEP IN SOME RANDO'S FUCKING CAR? -CHILD LOCKS ON A FRONT CAR DOOR? This is the most egregious one! CHILD LOCKS ON THE FRONT DOOR OF A CONVERTIBLE? On perhaps the ONLY DOORS OF A CONVERTIBLE? -The rando apparently has enough foresight to lock the child locks ON A FRONT CAR DOOR but then leaves a FUCKING POCKET KNIFE on the floor, then somehow doesn't notice the guy reaching for it? FOR A TINY HARD TO SEE THING ON THE FLOOR OF A CAR? Even if I know down to a millimeter where something fell on the floor of a car, it's an entire process trying to get it. -The guy manages to UNLOCK A CHILD LOCK? With the door closed? Nevermind THAT is the most egregious one! -Runs from a guy with his cell phone light on? Stories like this are so bad they're not even entertaining. The quality of the video and narration is top notch as always but come on, Llama. There are so many more believable stories out there to pick.

I wouldn't be surprised if the guy didn't actually remember the MC's address. He wasn't planning on taking him home, so probably did pay full attention when told the address. Combine that with how his mind would've been narrowly focused on catching the MC after he ran into the woods, along with being blinded by rage after the MC got away, I doubt the kidnapper was able to remember the address, as he'd have already put it out of his mind the moment the MC fell asleep in the car.

I'd figured teens were a lot smarter after all these horror stories but I guess I was wrong. For ducks sakes if your going to meet someone online for the first time do it at a public place during the day time. Also if a stranger asks to give you a ride the answer is always no.
