Very refreshing video. In recent weeks every major Move to Portugal channel has put out the same doom and gloom videos about leaving Portugal or not moving there. The negativity has been very disappointing. We need more happy ending videos like this. Thank you, Nick.

Olhão é uma das cidades mais interessantes do Algarve! Tem muita história! As construções cúbicas, brancas ! A Rua Formosa! As praias nas ilhas! Muito bom peixe e marisco! O Mercado é arquitectonicamente muito bonito! E muito perto de Faro. Sou portuguesa e tenho uma caravana no Parque de Campismo de Olhão. Costumo passar o inverno aí! Gosto muito de Olhão! Ainda mantém a sua identidade! Não se confunde com outro sítio qualquer! O Sotavento algarvio é mais genuíno do que o barlavento!

Great video Nick! We have many similarities with John & Judy. Maybe in a ‘Part 2’ video, I’d like to know how they chose Olhao over say Tavira, Faro or VRSA? Sounds like they have a car for their daily needs. Probably haven’t used it yet but did they consider healthcare in choosing to live in Olhao? Thanks again. Cheers. 👋🏻

Haven't see all 150 of them but quite a few different ones and have been sharing with the other 5 of our friends who will be joining us. For example, I have watched the newest on Faro and Loule. I just rewatched them taking special interest in Nick Smith's segment on Loule. Merry Christmas to all of you and we look forward to connecting with Robin in early 2024 prior to our visit. Hi Nick, We have enjoyed so many of your videos and really enjoyed this one. Great to hear the experience of some fellow Coloradans. We are working on getting our D7 visas and are planning on moving from Denver to Tavira in the spring or early summer if all goes well! Hi Kat, for a personalised tour, it's about 400 a day. About the location that Jahn and Julie moved to, it's on the coast: Olhão.

Not worried about the language when in a restaurant but I am concerned when I go to get my utilities setup or get my drivers license. Any tips?

Yes, use a service company. I did when I first arrived, and it's more expensive (obviously) but a much easier experience.

Why compare countries? We don't need to be compared with any other place... as a portuguese I find it very annoying. The result comes to silly comparisons such as the Portuguese Venice, the Portuguese Nepal... And now California as well... 🙄🙄🙄

I ve been to Santorini, and just bought a gorgeous condo in Burgau- it definitely has greek vibes with the blue/ white shutters and narrow, cobbled paths...what else am I missing ..?!@@AlgarveAddicts
