Elisabeth, thank you very much for the video and for your hard work for us! Indeed through our mother Mary we can better connect to Jesus and in the next step God Father himself. We should not be afraid to consecrate to our mother Mary. Our Lady is only love. The consecration is the best thing we can do in our lives.

Hi! I couldn´t help but remember when I was kind of reluctant to consecrate myself to Mary, precisely because of that "unpopular" statement you mentioned: being slaves of Mary - in the way it should be understood, that you explianed very well. My wife helped me to understand it -. I think that´s one of the most difficult parts of being a true and faithfull christian: to abandon ourselves in Jesus - and Mary -, and let them do in our lives what they know we need, not what we think we need. Thanks for this summary and review!

I'm not uncomfortable with the word "slave", the Bible I use the most also uses the word, instead of "servant", where it belongs, for example in Luke 1:38 and even explains it similarly to St. Louis, whether most bibles use "servant" to not offend the readers. I'd also mention one important point of the total consecration by St. Louis. If I remember it correctly. it's THE point that makes it the total consecration and that is - we not only give up ourselves to Mary, but also all our eternal merits. And I like it very much. It gives me peace for several reasons, 1 - I know I won't have that much of them, I'd probably worry otherwise. I feel safer when I count with Mary coming to the judgment with something like "It's true it wasn't very pretty, but he trusted me with the little he had, take please enough from me" 2 - as they're now Mary's they're applied in the best possible way and not by my wishes, 3 - in a way, before it I had a faint feeling of greed trying to gather them, even if it's a right kind of greed :) but to give them to Mama is better, 4 - I'll be happier in Heaven with her (God willing) knowing I was not voluntarily keeping something so important for myself.

This book is sick. How can anyone who reads the Scriptures come to the conclusion that we should raise a mere human up to such a degree? All of this sounds like worship to me. Read James 2:9 and the rest of the chapter, and the whole Bible, and throw these books in the trash.

Dear Mr. Hansen, thank you for sharing your concern. Praying to someone is not the same as worship as I explain in my recent video "Why We're Catholic" starting at 6:46. I explain there (quoting the author) that worship is giving someone their due honor and prayer is just making a request. I agree with you, worshipping Mary would be a sin.

@@BiblicalBookworm I just read through the book yesterday and today, and if it isn't worship, then it is something absurdly similar. Where is the reference in Scripture to do anything like this? All I can think of is 1 Kings 18:21. God alone deserves our praise, our thanksgiving, and our submission. There are more problematic sentences in that Montfort book than I can even remember! Have you read the entire thing? It sounds more like New Age demon worship when he mentions emptying yourself and asking Mary to enter.

Ultimately, it all boils down to the question if God said everything that is necessary for our salvation in the Bible or if he also wants us to follow the traditions he gave the apostles orally. Catholics believe in the latter. The central question is not how should we treat Mary but should Christians stick to the Bible, and only the Bible.

@@BiblicalBookworm yes, I agree this is the most important question. Have you considered Deuteronomy 13:1-4? You can use this test to determine if someone is speaking from God or not. In even a cursory look at Catholic church fathers, you can easily find contradictions. This cannot be possible if the words are ordained by God.

Mary, herself, would be horrified in seeing this Catholic idolatry of her. Christians are to worship GOD, alone! No amount of word games make it anything other than it is, which is IDOLATRY.
