Some notes about the game: So...I love this game, but the PC version is broken beyond belief! I had to use the keyboard number pad to control the camera and also had to use the keyboard to lock-on and fire weapons as the mouse would lock up. I tried my best to make the gameplay smooth but was definitely a challenge. I also had to use a speed fix to slow down the game as it runs way too fast on modern PCs for some reason. This game is also locked at a smooth...28fps which is bizarre! As much as I love this game it really did have it's technical issues which is a real shame.

@@Javkillers it was at first when they released the trailer at e3 that one year it was true crime Hong Kong but they changed the name to sleeping dogs it technically is a soft reboot type to the series at least my assumption but they definitely should remaster this game

Wow!! The memories. I used to play this all the time when I was a teenager. I was obsessed with it. Now here I am nearly two decades after the release of this game and I'm a black detective like Marcus. People talk badly about video games but some of them inspire people. And this one certainly got me on the right track to protecting and serving and staying off the streets 👍

Definitely. I’m surprised it’s a hidden gem and not mainstream. Probably cuz gta. I loved playing both. This and San Andreas were the shit. It’s crazy how much gaming has changed. They definitely don’t make ‘em like this no more. I think that’s probably why it’s a hidden gem too cuz there were just so many dope ass games being made during that time period. This, GTA Series, 25 to life, MK Series, Cod series even back then, wwe games, and the list goes on. It was a great time to be a gamer. If this were released today, it’d wipe the floor with everything else very easily.

One of my favorites that rests in the archives. ❤️. The missions in this game were something else! Really wish they reboot/remake this game. The atmosphere was very New York 😂

I spent hours cleaning up the whole gang activity, driving every square inch of the map. And doing the missions last. Ps2 days were so chill, effortless, timeless, so many countless games 🎮

Kids today will never know what it feels like having to restart from the beginning of a story mode everytime you turn on your system because of the small memory sim cards 😂

This game is absolutely amazing! Definitely need a remaster but the biggest problem with this game was those falling back deaths were terrible. Need some ragdoll action in the remaster.

Easily one of the top 10 intros in gaming history.

The only thing holding True Crime NYC back is the bugs. If you look close enough, the game tells a very unique, interesting, and activating story about crime and punishment and how it all plays into morality.

In fact when l played GTA SA a little later, l honestly thought this was the better game....at least early on. Of course once GTA SA gets going, it never slows down, so it's way better overall. But if you compare the first couple hours gameplay, l think this has the edge over SA. Even the story was better, IMO 😏

Later on when l finally got to play the much celebrated GTA SA, l honestly felt it was inferior to this, and was a bit disappointed. But that was early on, because once GTA SA gets going, it never stops, so yeah its the better game. But if you were to compare the 1st few hours of gameplay of this to SA, l think this actually gets the edge. It even has a better story. I mean, what IS SA' s story? I suppose the overarching story is the hunt for CJ's mom's killer, but once you leave Los Santos, that storyline gets put on the backburner for the majority of the game, and before you know it you're breaking into Area 51 to steal a jetpack from the army, so who's killer are you after again? lol Meanwhile the story in TC is clear from day one. Everything you do is to find the person who murdered your mentor, and while dealing with that you have to balance your father pushing you back into a life of crime, and trying to be a good police officer at the same time. It was just fantastic storytelling, so this game could have definitely given gta a run for its money if some things were different.

This game graphics wise aged better than all GTA before GTA 4 and that was its competition. Graphics is very close to GTA 4 and they didn't even come out around the same time

This game had so much potential to be a great open world crime game that definitely would’ve almost competed with gta franchise Like seriously i played this game back on ps2 when it first got launched and i was astonished by the graphics just imagine with today’s tech and graphics how would this game be? Although, I never got to finish everything until I bought the PC version of it many years later and it was still as amazing as it was back when I was a kid. Good times. Even though the game was buggy, it was still pretty fun. Learning new moves, slaying pedestrians, the funny dialogue when people die, the radio stations that rivaled both GTA & Saints Row, etc etc.

Need more police/crime games.

I love this game . My favorite death line was “ what about my.. kids “ then I preceded to do the zombie cheat code and shit went crazy

These True crime games were ahead of their times. Its a shame they haven't made a new one.

Lol I remember being a bad cop in this game literally running people over and shooting off their limbs this game was extremely violent lol limbs fly off including yours if you get in a bad situation 😂😂 good times

Bro you could even get akimbo heads ans slap people with heads, legs arms, parking money pay meters, broken iron, metal, fight clubs, you could but someones head in a hanging dead shark and close the sharks mouth

This game saved my live back in 7th grade going into the 8th!!! Let’s never forget games like this!!! Marcus was 🐐!!!

Why i still look to this masterpiece and think: "damn these graphics and gameplay daaaamn awesome af" I loved this game when i played (ps2) back then when i was a kid, it's a shame that we don't have a remastered version yet

It was a real shock to see Terry alive despite his "death". I can understand why Marcus got angry.

He's essentially his uncle who helped raise him like he said. Pretty much his father outside since Isaiah is behind bars. So you can feel the betrayal

This was my game back in the day. At the time I thought it had some of the best fighting mechanics ever in a game.

Thought this game gets remade it looks so fun. I love this game. Great upload mate. Keep it up. I love it. Your skill level is off the charts. I'm in awe of how you can navigate through those challenging levels with such ease. It's inspiring to watch and motivates me to improve my own gaming abilities. This series needs to continue... The chosen detective hero cycle needs to continue like the Avatar Cycle. LA. gave us Nick Kang N.Y. gave us Marcus Reed. London's yet to be chosen.

Damn..the good old days..I remembered playing this game for hours. Love this game so much.

I played it on my OG Xbox and I remember playing up all night. The map was huge and driving feels like endless going from one street to another. Unfortunately, I was too young and didn't appreciate it as much as it deserved.

I remember renting this game from blockbuster. I must have brought it back like three months late. I was like eight years old and this was the coolest game I'd ever played.

The Redman level of this game was also as fun as the main game

The nostalgia.... Thanks for the gameplay. I loved this game from the beginning credits of Jay Z and Camron, til the ending of the bonus game at the end with Redman. The soundtrack, all the extra shit you can do throughout the game that you didn't show here. I used to be so addicted to this game. This shit even low key taught me how to drive. I always hope for a remastered version of this. I'd be the 1st to cop it.
