For being on the show such a short time. Godric was such a compelling character with a great story arc. I love the range of emotion that he goes though in the scene with Eric and in this scene. Even though Sookie only knew him a short time, it felt right that she was the one with him at the end. He had saved her life earlier in the episode and even though she didn't know his whole story and all the things he had done, she had the compassion to offer comfort and friendship. In the end, it wasn't Eric's love he needed, it was Sookie's kindness.

I'm sad because Goddric died :( ..I almost cried when I watched this sciene for the first time ...He was so good,and Eric loved him so much!

Yeah, but Godrich I mean like he didn’t care about himself because that prove that he wanted to die, he wanted to die which means he didn’t care about himself. He didn’t think about what a father is what I thought when he died.

Godric was one of the most believable immortal characters in that after 2000 years of existence, he had grown weary of it all.

I agree, Russel may have been older, but it would have been a great fight and proper purpose for godric.

He was the best character on that show. I'm surprised a spinoff never occurred.

It would have been interesting to see part of that 2000 years of history.

I just realised that when Godric died he didn’t burst or have any blood he just faded away like he went to heaven,

Yes, he was at peace. It didn't look like he was in pain at all.

@merthinbridger I think it's because she's so tenderhearted and has a lot of empathy, that she has some comprehension of the pain that Godric has gone through. Imagine your perception of reality, of the world, of humans, as a vampire after two thousand years of existence. She probably can't fully understand it, but she has some inkling of the anguish he was in.

i cry every single damn time i see this scene!!! amazing music makes it spectacular!! glad we get to see more of godric in season 3 tho!

Man this scene was so sad! I like Goddric's character and i wish that they hadn't killed him off, he was so cool.

One of the saddest moments of True Blood. I LOVED Godric, why do all of the good characters always get killed off? It just pisses me off when they do that! I think that they should make another series about Godric, and make it about his life before he became a vampire and go on up to the time where he dies, that would be EPIC!!

Godric would be even more suprised to find out she is a half human half fairy.

I stopped watching the show after he was gone.

0:08 to 0:35 ...thats all.....

first 2 seasons were incredible..then each season got progressively worse.

Godric is the most shallow written ancient character I've come across in any serious fiction. You can't just stick a vampire in and make a claim that he's thousands of years old and then make him a total intellectually incompetent idiot.
