@@sameuljones5496 Hi mate!Doesn't surprise me..Just thought that the fact they are much bigger than ours might have made a difference but obviously not.Pretty poor really!l'm an ex trucker myself, and most drivers, especially older ones, want to get out of it due to the hours, stress, lack of social life and crap useless management,to name but a few reasons! You do have lovely trucks though.Would'nt mind driving one of those myself😎👍!

So interesting video for viewers from northern hemisphere. Why so many double steering axles trucks and there so much free space on tractor's platform? Thanks

Axle weights and length restrictions. Also we pay Road User Charges (RUC) per km based on weight and the number of axles. Generally it's cheaper to have more axles. 9 axles for 50 tonne (110,000 lb) is the size for the trucks with the "H" stickers but on selected routes they can be approved for more. A long haul for a Log Truck maybe up to 400 km one way, usually a lot shorter.

There is a tally station down the road that some go to then take the logs into port. Some trucks have to come down and use the roundabout as they are not allowed to cross the road to enter the tally station

If you see properly there are chains next to every pole on truck as well as trailer... here i NZ any load that wighs more than 2.5tonnes have to be chained. Anything under 2.5 tonnes can be strapped with ratchet straps.

Also two steering axles can be a life saver should one of the steering tyres blow.
