Yes this is the same road that they filmed the new season of ice road truckers and it is a year-round road. A really crappy, mostly gravel road, but it's the only trucking route to Prudhoe bay. This part is not Atigun, it's a hill called the shelf.

The Dalton highway is pavement and dirt in the summertime most Alaskan truck drivers prefer to drive it in the winter time because its alot smoother .. Summertime its very wash Boardy beats the shit out of ya .. ICE Road truckers most of the show is Bull shit!!!!! Carlile is like Swift is in the lower 48 states !!
