The reason your trailer moves more with the wheels forward is that it makes your wheel base shorter. The wider the wheelbase, the more stable the trailer & tractor. It's just physics. 😂

In that situation, I'd get the dolly up just enough to slowly pull it out until it's clear, then finish raising them. If they complain about you being in the way, tough shit. They parked them that way, and you have to do your pre-trip.

Hey Alex, I was going to pick up a truck in Texas as we left out at 5 a.m. to go through Tennessee we were making good time. Thankfully I took my 68 Dodge Charger, which saved our lives. I knew we were under a tornado watch, then it was upgraded to warning finally EMERGENCY! I was watching and Tyler was too we went up a grade and around a corner there it was. I told Tyler hang on for your life I spun the car around and floored it. I was trembling and told Tyler flag a cop if he saw one he called in that we were running as fast as possible and the exact position according to Garmin. I ran a stop sign doing 120 mph a cop saw me and then I pointed back the way I had just come he got on the loud speaker and gave me directions to get out of the path, 5 minutes later we were safe, and I was like man we almost bit it, to the deputy who hadn't seen it until we passed Andrew like I said always watch out! It was a new Charger vs an old one and mine won! He told us he'd probably been a statistic if not for me, we shook hands. Imagine if we had taken a Kenworth, better yet don't!

You made hooking up to that trailer look way more difficult than needed lol. Next time you are dealing with that issue where your trailer is too close on the driver side, come at it at an offset angle so you can use the fifth wheel in a way to push the kingpin and trailer more to the right

It's logical, when your wheels are not back on the tail of the trailer this one is not supported, it's for that you turn much more easily in the small bends. The GPS, when you zoom in the back, or you click on the screen, you can have a global view of the map and see where you can pass. Try to make your back ups using yours mirrors, and one hand on the steering wheel, and never cross yours arms when you drive. Have you try android car play in your dash, or you can't ? Nice video, keep rolling ✌

Hey Alex, I finally let my partner buy out my 1/2 of the company and only my 20 you rookie came with me. I paid for 3 2020 Kenworth T680's last year and those are mine, my partner still owes me like $875,000 and I brought over some of my personal customers. I'm relocating to Georgia, where I own a house and a few acres of land to be turned into a small yard 25 trailers max capacity to start with. I'm closer now to one of customers in Tampa Florida. I still need a driver who likes to earn money. I told my partner buy me out then! Alex, you know how hard it is to start over, but try it from a new beginning. I have the support of my old company behind me to become very competitive in pricing. I just hope to find me another person to drive and make the real bucks !

I hates it when the yard jockeys park trailers so close! The XPO in LaSalle, IL. Park their trailers the same way. I'll go them and have them pull it out!

Honest question. So you can just grab any empty, when the one they told you to get is missing? Seems wrong.

You would have to call your company, and ask them if you can. You could get in trouble with your employer if you take a trailer without any kind of confirmation

Once you got the landing gear up a little bit why didn’t you pull out away from the trailer so tight to you and give yourself some room to inspect!

OMGoodness Alex, I'm worn out just lis'nun let alone watching... that proximity between trailers at the dock was absurd.... I'll say it again; '...experience is what you get, ...when you DON'T get what you wanted!'

Don't know what company you work for or what state you got your CDL in but my brother had a similar situation as well as being diagnosed with sleep apnea and having to wait several months to go get tested and get a machine as well as the blood clots. And the company he worked for and never took away his CDL granted it took him so long to come back to work that they let him go and he had to find another trucking company to go work for but I was told by an employee at the DMV in my state that no trucking company in the state I live in has the legal right to take away your CDL since CDLs are issued by the state you live in so again I don't know what company you work for and what state you live in but if they have that level of authority and power to take away a state-issued CDL then please let me know what company it is so I never decide to go work for them. Lol

I don’t know if it’s because I watch your channel, but I always notice GP trucks on I-90 in NY now. I always look to see: “ALEX THE TRUCKING GUY?!” No…. Not him. One day. One day I’ll pass you in my straight truck lol. I’m studying for my CDL A, can’t wait to join your ranks at some point.
