Weird. When the protesters were toppling statues of Queen victoria and decapitating statues of the first prime minister, the administration took a knee 'in solidarity' with them. When people in an 85% vaccinated country are non-violently protesting saying 'this should be a matter of personal medical autonomy to decide what treatments we get without fear of losing our livelihoods' they are called racists and trans-phobics..... This is how it always is. Each of those in yellow jackets and uniforms is protecting a pension and salary. That's their motivation for being there. It's not noble and they are stripping away freedoms, but it puts a roof over their head where they apparently sleep well at night. It's pathetic that more of them don't wake up.

Horse drawn carts were hauling fuel long before modern transportation. They were used in cities to fuel gas lamps in the streets, heating oil for homes, kerosene for light, for stoves, and lots of other uses. All done safely for hundreds of years. Diesel is generally safe in liquid form which is why it's being transported in a sealed container.

Diesel can spill making an environmental mess that's hard to contain and clean up. Is that fuel tote approved for transport on public highways? Are the horses CSA certified not to spook? What's the GVWR of the wagon?

Situations on the ground are often easy to "Monday morning quarterback" but judging by what the officer said, all that would be necessary is to ditch the wagon, get 30 or forty strong guys around that tank and walk it in. Take frequent breaks, ,maybe roll it on some pipe but it looks doable.

Yup, should be said - they are far from excused for their propaganda boot licking, but a) they have done it less than the others, and b) they have not done it in this video so credit where credit is due.

"Because we're worried about your safety" is what got us into this 2+ years to flatten the 2 week curve. Trampling of Human Rights are a much bigger concern than a horse-drawn wagon.

Yeah, typical "OHS" response. As long as you can claim it's for safety reasons, you can stop anyone from doing anything. We certainly don't want to be taking risks like socializing with passports and infecting people and such things that are so obviously "unsafe". BTW, the Bill of Rights says every person has a right to travel in Canada....everywhere unless there is an obvious and immediate danger....hazards don't count!

@@SlaveKing I am all for right to protest, but there are ways to protest without blocking the roads and honking horns. Trudeau isn’t even there, all this does is stripping people of quality sleep which can cause serious health issues. Some of the most serious potential problems associated with chronic sleep deprivation are high blood pressure, diabetes, heart attack, heart failure or stroke some of which can easily kill a person. Other potential problems include obesity, depression, impairment in immunity. Some of us also had to be out in -25 for over an hour with a 17 month old baby because the bus she takes can’t get to where her day care is due to this protest.

Old guy trying very peacefully to bypass a check point that no one can pass. 🇨🇦 🍁 👍👏

I remember when the RCMP and other Canadian police forces were greatly respected across the country, and the world. That reputation has been in shambles for a while now, and this officer's lack of ability to think for himself only enforces the current downward trend of public approval, in my opinion. Denying fuel for heating purposes to children in a peaceful demonstration is not something many of us ever thought we'd see in our country. I'd really like to know what the WW11 vets think of what is going on here. And, by the way, I am triple vaccinated, but am still greatly disappointed in our policing system.

It was a fair and decent conversation. I back the truckers 100%, but I believe the officers were correct in telling them the horses pulling diesel could pose a problem. You ever tried to stop a spooked horse? I have... good luck.

It's amazing that these cops are paid by the very same people that they are harassing. Politicians don't pay the police... WORKING TAXPAYERS DO.

What can we say their Canadian, we do things differenly up here, This is a protest unlike anything the world has ever seen. Not just because of the trucks, not just because of the lack of violence, not just because the kindness of the protesters. It's unique because the the intergerty of the police forces who are stuck in the middle between their negibors (all Canadians are negibors) and their goverment. @@occidentadvocate.9759 I believe that as canadian's the police have more intergery then that, The goverment will ask, their bosses may order, and all the police will have a cough and need to self isolate (maybe the pm can give them suggestions on where to relax comfortably.) Most police didn't sign up for this and I don't even think the millitary would open fire.

What do people expect? This is a police force that had no problems weeding out of the rankes the unvaccinated. They have no problems "just following orders"

You're right there that deserve respect, a couple days ago the police confiscated gas and Diesel. Then A judge told him to return it they did but a lot of the containers was half full with water gas and Diesel. Very respectful hey.

This is the shame of it. We have real heroes at the Olympics representing Canada and they're doing a fine job under stressful conditions. Here we have protesters honking horns, blocking traffic, spewing diesel exhaust 24/7 into the air and they think they are the heroes. They are not. There may be thousands of protesters, but there are millions of Canadians who are not protesting.

Wow, I once attempted that level of quiet and peaceful conversation with the jackboots at the US border, 'once', and learned the hard way that when they want to do something, even if you have a valid and lawful point, you're wrong and they will prove they are tougher than you. Just because. Those Ottawa cops were truly as polite and respectful as you're going to get in that situation and should be respected for the difficult position they have been put in. They didn't even have to apologize but the cop actually did as a human being to another showing him respect. That's following orders and showing compassion.

Well done gentlemen! Firm but non-confrontational.

@@em-dy3hn I am an ex trucker. I hauled dangerous goods and many tankers. All the way through university. I might have even studied something related to chemicals... but honestly who cares. You sent people to "talk to a trucker". Well here: You have no idea what you 're talking about. There is nothing dangerous about carrying fuel in a wagon in a CSA certified cistern. I know you're trying to sound smart but you're out of your depth. You clearly have no clue about fuel handling, transport of dangerous goods or properties of diesel. So, instead of trying to sound smart, go home, read a book or two. Or buy a gallon of diesel and play around with it in a safe setting. You will feel a lot less ignorant when you're done.

I think most people are missing the point. The protest drivers are independents, they are taking the risk. A very large number of non protesting drivers (company drivers), are watching what is happening. If things go wrong in the capital, the other drivers will stop and the cities WILL begin running out of supplies. Most cities cannot continue to supply their citizens after 3 days of a logistics breakdown. This is not as simple as a group of malcontents, this action is well thought out and is inevitable.

The fellow in blue very nearly arrived at a solution. All he had to do was to make a hotel reservation for two horses (double king size), accompanied by a chuckwagon and a diesel tank (non smoking floor). For all his sea lawyering with police, he would have gotten further with a reservations clerk.

The FACT that the police officer stated,on video..they could bring by hand carry was the point..you are aware that diesel is NOT explosive or flammable...facts matter..and comraderery stopped tonight??? The police went in with weapons to a fuel and food camp,stole the fuel towed food trucks around Ottawa away,aressted folks,and stated anyone supporting any in ottawa will be fined and possibly aressted even ur 77 yr old mother bringing you a cake..all video'd..truckers are saying bring fuel,food or just physical support..if fined,you will be reimbursed or save ur ticket for history to show ur grandchildren..convoys lawyers are in process of having it voided

Sounds like the crowd needs to start pulling and pushing the wagon into the area.

Love it the cops cant even figure out how to work together. Starts with their leader

*OK. So do what the head Sargent of the Hill Police suggested, that you get people together to hand carry diesel fuel up to the truckers (???) This will also work, yet it will be a much more difficult task, and require large amounts of volunteers to hand carry smaller fuel amounts per person up to the hill area. This is better than no fuel at all is it not ?*

Exacty what I was thinking. No issue of "spooking" the people pulling the wagon. Haha... And diesel is not some dangerous flammable substance being pulled with a wagon by horses. This fuel needs to be sprayed under high pressure into a fine mist in order to have a chance of igniting into fire.

Look take some diesel, try to ignite it with a lighter, match or even a torch. So what was the result ? Diesel has a high flash point, in other words in this situation it is relatively safe. However spills can be a problem, but that goes for any chemical or even many concentrated substances that when diluted are safe for consumption. The point I am trying to make is don't make enemies out of the police. I have been watching closely and am speaking from my own experience there are a few bad apples but when the dust settles we will live together again and this movement can help put an end to the us and them mentality and point us in the direction of we ... or it can go the other way. Don't let the true enemy prevail.
