Same here, my grandfather Olson was born to 2 swedes who made it to NJ in 1912. If my own dad had not left when I was 2, I might know some Swedish myself. But no, have to learn the hard way, on my own. I want to fly out there, waiting for vaccines to catch up in Europe and for things to open up.

These videos make me feel like being on a road trip in Sweden. :)

Amazing how some "must pass truck!" Working for a heavy duty towing company on the New Jersey Turnpike, I have seen what an 80,000 pound semi can do to an automobile.

Indeed they are carelessly playing around a crushing machine. If it was a car then the dangers would be reduced but a fully loaded semi doesn't just crunch your car up at the rear and front in a pinch, the semi will continue through a car the same way a tank will run over one with its tracks.

Now I want to go live on a quiet little island in Sweden.

Another fantastic video Andreas!!! The old timer, was that a Scania 142H? Had me drooling, shame we couldn't hear the gurgle of the V8...... ( if it had one). I think you will find Ron Pratt's blue and white trucks are a little bit bigger than a Mercedes van too 😂 The scenic route at the end did not need anything else added to it, may be the same route you have taken, you will always find something different along the way!! 😎😎😎

And that painting in the Prosche couldn't be very valuable, because no one with a little bit of common sense would transport a valuable painting this way. :) You have special boxes for them and if necessary (at least most) would call a forwarder. HAH!! I thought the "hello" and "thank you" flashing lights was just a north America truck thing!!! Who da thunk it wasn't!!

Looking at the others trucks flashing, and thinking a bit... In Norway we also flashes, but more than 2 times meens trouble up ahead... There is no common rule about 4 is cops, and 5 means wild animal on the road.. But more than 2 means watch out up ahead. We also do a left signal (1 blink) as a greetings to comerades in the same trade. And a single flash, when greeting back to helpers on the road. Done some years in a truck, and is now a busdriver.

Sweden appears to be a relatively peaceful country, and it also appears to have good roads. If I spoke Swedish I'd just have my car shipped there and drive around the country for 5-6 months.

My uncle was a Brit policeman in the 60/85's was a traffic cop for some of his time Taught me a lot as a young recovery mechanic going out on the Motorways at night to bring in the wrecks The first time you see a dead body it doesn't register (still remember the body)till a day a week a month a year later

I've seen it again & again in trucker dashcam videos - unanswered question: why do small cars seem to race to be in front of a huge truck & then the car slows down, might even stop? Small car drivers seems ignorant their car could be a "casket" if the truck driver doesn't get chance to break his truck in time.

Jag som är ganska färsk förare minns mycket väl hur ofta de påpekade vikten av att accelerera ordentligt (men säkert) upp till matchande hastighet så japp.. detta skall alla kunna!

@@Skuggan84 min erfarenhet som taxi/färdtjänstförare är att det ofta handlar om äldre personer som är så vana med att ta bilen att de inte själva märkt när de av osäkerhet eller problem med reaktionsförmåga/synproblem har så att de själva blivit en trafikfara

5:17 what did you expect it's a Audi driver. Judging by the speed it's probably some older person, since a younger driver would be going with speed of light.

5:17 I'm guilty of doing that back when I was learning to drive. I had give way triangles on my side but there was a slow truck on the main way so I thought I would be able to get into the main way and accelerate before the truck reaches me. Had the car in third gear and tried to accelerate with the pedal to the metal but nothing much happened and the truck had to brake hard. Got a well deserved yelling from my instructor but I learned my lesson. Never got out into the main way from that place ever again if there was a vehicle on it. :)

Hej! Tack så mycket :) Det är inget jag själv använt...började köra för runt 18 år sedan. Det var precis då mobilen ersatte företagets radio för att kommunicera med förarna. Jag gissar att mobilen även ersatt mycket av radiotrafiken mellan förare.

i wish i lived in sweden all those butifull scania's 8> 8> 8> 8> 8> here in the netherlends we do have the scania factory and daf but that is no where near where i live but everytime i come by the highway i must look at the trucks

70 on 90 road is still decent... 50 on 110 is worse... becouse you don't expect it so you almost hit them in the ass... 9 out of 10 times it is a small KIA shoebox with a 80+ lady in it though... That or people braking where it used to be a junction that is now removed (5 years ago)... that also comes as a surprise way too often. I'm glad I'm reasonably experienced enough to expect people behaving like brainless slugs... But it has been close a few times..

Inget fel i framförandet av ambulansen. Helt rätt kört. De vet inte hur det ser ut i högerfilen. Sen så varför saktar inte övrig trafik upp, och håller höger då de kommer på larm?

Alla håller till höger och lämnar vägen fri för ambulansen. Om de saktat ner så hade det blivit svårare att göra manövern de tillslut gjorde.

@@SonsOfLorgar Length and hight, many of those sections have ship traffic so a bridge would have to be mega tall= thus very expensive. Also there is nimby-ism, islanders often don't want more visitors and risk being eaten by suburbanization.
