Truck Parks Way Too Close To Street Running Train! 2 Mile Long CSX Street Runner Train Fouls Traffic
Ойын-сауық
Truck Parks Way Too Close To CSX Street Running Train That Has 2 Locomotives In The Middle Of The Train Working Hard! High Rail Truck Running Down The Middle Of Main Street On The CSX Short Line From Louisville, Kentucky To Cincinnati, Ohio. Train Speed Limits Explained & Railroad Radio. Street Running In LaGrange, Kentucky On The LCL Sub.
This is a southbound CSX mixed freight. The train is street running in LaGrange, Kentucky and has a couple of DPUs in the middle. Perfect sunlight shining right on the front of the train! A person driving the pickup truck wanted to make a left turn over the railroad but decided to sit next to the track and wait for the huge train to pass. They should have turned right and took a different route. Sitting that close to a moving freight train is dangerous and foolish. If anything had been sticking off of that train like a log or unsecured load that could have been a disaster. Trains have to go slow through town due to things like this. I explain in the video the maximum speeds for the trains while on the street running track. I also show a closeup of one of my radios with the frequencies programmed in it.
The top frequency on my radio is the dispatch frequency for the Oldham County fire and EMS. The bottom frequency is the road channel for CSX where the trains call out the signals and you can hear the defect detectors. There are other frequencies that you can listen to obviously but these are really all you need if you want to know when the trains are approaching and if you want to listen in on the LaGrange Fire Department dispatch channel. These radios will scan numerous frequencies but I usually only listen to a maximum of two at a time.
This video also shows the Live Action Pets including Norfy and we see the slide show that comes from this video. What did you think about the truck sitting so close to a moving train? Please leave a comment below.
Filmed Thursday, April 18, 2024 in 1080p with 60fps. Thanks for watching!

How is common sense a factor smart guy? Maybe they wanted to get closer to the action. They're within the markings on the road. No different than when these guys stand feet away from a train going 45+ mph.

These trains consistently seem to have the best mixes of freight cars from the type to the owner. That guy in the pickup truck would have been in for a big surprise if this was a CN train from Sault Ste Marie MI to Green Bay WI which consistently have plate steel that overhangs the regular car width. It would have been the new model called the can opener

@@JawTooth The town seems to have painted white lines a few feet either side of the track. Which suggests they are saying it's OK to be there so long as you're outside the line. Got mixed feelings about that -- maybe better to have signs that say get off the road if there's a train coming thru! Nice video, by the way -- as always!
I always enjoy the La Grange action. People do whatever they want until life throws them a haymaker. So it goes. Excellent video, thanks JT!
More exciting train action from Lagrange KY where the tracks run through the middle of town and the vehicles are always at risk if they are to close to the tracks, with the awesome live action train pets Norfy, Chessie, Loki and Brandi always great to see them as well as the slide show of the awesome trains, thanks Jaw Tooth. 🇺🇲🤠🐈⬛🐕🦺🇺🇲🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲

Hi to JT & everyone. I've been waiting for part 2 JT! It's great when the drivers & their vehicles start to panic when they seen the train. Sometimes it can be chaos in La Grange. The truck is only about 2 feet from the train don't get why he or she parked there. Move it right where the parking spaces are. Weather looked beautiful that day JT. That train was a monster. Did I hear Norfie purring? Bless. ❤😊🐕🐕🐈⬛👍

This would be a great commercial for the motorized folding mirrors feature they added to some trucks a while back. Guy parks to close and looks in his mirror... sees a two mile long freight train and folds the mirrors... narrowly avoiding distruction 😁
@robertf3479

Just because he is sitting just outside of the markings does NOT mean he is perfectly safe. As JT says, a hanging strap or chain or even a log or pole hanging loose could tear off part of that truck or, in the case of a 'phone pole or tree trunk come right in through the back of the cab.

I am actually blessed that Google does that. They are only supposed to put them between trains or breaks in the video.
I grew up in Fort Collins, Colorado, and trains would come down Mason Street, one of the best street running locations in America. Personally, from my experience on Mason Street, I didn't think that that was actually all that dangerous. As a previous viewer noted, yes, there could be something hanging off a train, but that person was well within the legal lines, and I from the start thought he was turning left because that's what you had to do in Fort Collins. I was impressed that he actually waited and didn't turn left in front of the train. Just my opinion, though, and as always, great video. This was one of the longest trains I think I've ever seen in La Grange!
@STL-Railfan
Ай бұрын
Thing is with Mason Street, it's wider and allows for two lanes of traffic in each direction plus parallel parking with the rails down the middle. It actually used to be like this but I think about 10 years ago it was improved and basically the street and the rails are now separated.
Brian this as always an amazing catch thanks The guy in the truck was was stupid. Really like you said he could have pulled out went right. I think he wanted to get hit so the rr pay for it.smh have great day JT

Great video, Jaw Tooth, but I would never had parked that close to the track, let one of those dangling strips would take their back glass out or take off their mirror, That was a dangerous act of Stupidity on the P/U truck's part. Anyway, Jaw Tooth have a very great day, my Friend.

That pickup driver clearly had enough time at the train’s slow speed, to make a quick turn when the cross traffic cleared, long before the front loco got there. At first, I wondered if there was a crossing gate with the arm down on both sides of the cross street, but in that case the driver should have just gone forward, and your comments on the video made me think there are no gates there. My first guess is they were out of town railfans, but then they should have come park over by where you were standing, so obviously not. Too bad, otherwise you could have had a nice chat. Thanks for a cool video! You have cool pet and pet names as well!
