I love how these companies always have this stupid complex check in/out process for their facility and they don't even tell you how it works, or someone forgets to do something and they get all pissed off at you the driver. It's the same kinda shit in reefer. so annoying

Mmmaaannnn!!! I just got a flashback. I did tanker for prime inc back in 2013. I went to get my tanker experience. I definitely enjoyed the journey but it was time to move on when my mom passed in 2014. Had to get out the truck for awhile.

You have a bright future ... you are not afraid of work. What happened with the old guys "southern hospitality"? Ha!

A lot has changed since I was at ADM last. There wasn’t any guards the last time. We use to haul meal and hulls out

You tired of being in the cold put on a damn jacket 🤣🤣🤣

As for dropping your loaded trailer. 1. Lower your landing gear until and leave it about 1/2 or so inches from the ground (on level ground) and NEVER put your handle away (let it swing free). 2. Pull your pin release. 3. Remove your air lines, etc. 4. Pull ahead a couple inches before you lower your suspension. 5. Once suspension is lowered completely, pull out from under the trailer. Note: if you don't pull ahead a tiny bit before lowering the suspension, the pin can get stuck in the jaws and can cause damage. 20+ experience here helping you out.

@VezOnTheRoad Every make/model has a different 5th wheel height. If the driver before you has a 5th wheel that's higher then yours and puts the handle away, you'll never get the handle back out to roll up your dolly legs. It may not happen for awhile but it will eventually happen. Even if you drop your trailer at a washout place, the hunter may drop the clean trailer in another location which could be a higher ground level and you may not be able to get the handle out. The last thing you, or another Prime driver, needs is to not be able to hook up to your tank/trailer.

​I personally never had an IMPOSSIBLE problem in 40 yrs regarding the handle (not saying it can't happen). If I have an issue with it in the future, that would make it 1 time out of over a 10,000+ times i've dropped and hooked a trailer.

Only thing i notice about tanker is at the pickups and deliveries, seem like nobody ever gives good instructions or directions. that would get annoying after awhile. they just expect you know exactly what to do upon arrival but that ain't always the case

99% of the guards I've encountered are chill, but for the 1% that act like this or worse, I start acting like a smart ass towards them.

My mentor thought me to drop a trailer the same way, lower the landing gear until it’s an inch from the ground, dump the airbags and release kingpin button. That’s for a 53” dryvan, I don’t know about tankers.

Noice on the almost 5k also i like to drop a trailer like roll the landing gear till it touches the ground and then roll it 1 or 2 more times you usually hear air coming out of the suspension then i get in & drop the suspension wait a lil bit & pull out I'll do that with a loaded or empty trailer no matter the weight

That is my METHOD as well. The trailer will NEVER drop to the ground. The tractor will just SLIDE out from under.

Personally a loaded tanker i put landing gear all the way down then drop air. If its empty i leave a gap.

Lamar Av is a very dangerous place. I use to stop there on my way to Alabama from Springfield Missouri. I also use to work for Prime Inc but not as a driver. I use to work in detention.

FACTS! That's my method as well. Forget leaving up to an inch above the ground. I don't like that trailer drop especially if it's a heavy load.

Just tell her the camera is off even if it's not off. She doesn't know if the camera is on. Or you can tell her "whos camera is it?" If it's your (her) camera I'll turn it off. Tell her you're trying to gain SUBSCRIBERS not LOSE subscribers.
