Omg that yard was not tight 😂😂 Try working the clay pits Devon and Cornwall fella. Ex Tramper for a Spanish company and 24 yrs HGV 1 experience. Keep learning the trade and in time you will know what us veteran's of the road are talking about. Keep driving and learning on the job thats all you can do plus listen to frindly advice from the older drivers. They generally are helpful if you are prepared to listen. Take care and stay safe

recently got out of hgv driving . being spoken to like crap at sites , treated like crap by other road users , vosa , list goes on no wonder there's a shortage of hgv drivers.

I don’t think there is any shortage anymore. Iv got 8 years class 2 experience. Now got my class 1 and full ADR with tanks. I have applied for nearly 250 jobs in the last month and heard back from 4 of them. That includes agencies, class 2 work and class 1. I thibk the government allowing people to jump from car to artic has created a HIGE influx of drivers. More than there is jobs.

Respect to you pal my grandad was a hgv lorry driver for 40 odd years I used to go out with him a couple times the size of them truck against tiny U.K. roads is a nightmare and requires alot of patience

I have delivered to this place before and I don't see what all the fuss is about. The roads into it are far worse than the actual place he is delivering too! Also he came in the wrong way and I presume left the wrong way. You come in off the M62 onto Burtonwood Road then onto clay lane and follow that down to Phillips Lane. His sat nav took him the stressful "scenic" route because there is a 7.5 Tonne limit on Burtonwood road but is except for access so is fine to use to get to his delivery.

Truckmeister i don't know if avaliable in UK but that's what I use to navigate you can put you're measurements and weights in so you know you can take the route it will avoid bridges with waight limit

You should not be driving a HGV

At this point it musk be a pisstake ? I've been driving class 1 for just 2 weeks, the week just gone I was in the south coast of Scotland on the B840 running up the Loch Awe, this road is about 7ft wide, the tyres hand over about 3inch either side of the road. You meet cars, trailers etc on the road. Passing them you've got about 2inch, now that's tight but I think I could get it through better places still. You've got about 3ft of room and your running up and down. Your making most places herself by turning way to early... Must be a joke ?
