Truck CAMPING in the RAIN - MASSIVE STORM

Ойын-сауық

What was meant to be a 2 night car camp in moderate rain turned into an unmitigated disaster. Out of nowhere a red weather warning was issued after I'd setup camp. Gale force winds destroyed my camp. Hope you enjoy!

Disclaimer: Any nasty comments will be deleted and the user permanently blocked, without hesitation. Thanks for watching and we hope you enjoy the video. Such a shame this major storm kicked in when it did. Also the fact the warning came so late. I had been checking the weather forecast for days and it was just moderate rain. Anyway, none of what happened is the manufacturers fault. This was a major wind event and only a 4 season Hilleberg would have stood a chance. Enjoy the video. ❤️AB

What a night,Tony😱!! You did all you could to make everything secure; it was just no match for Mother Nature. Did you ever find out how high the winds got during the night? When you first got in the tent and had to get up to go out to see what was flapping, I was begging you to get in the car!! Glad you heard me!😆 Very entertaining video🥳 So sorry you lost your crappy tent and great tarp. I saw Luke review that tent recently. He had major leaking issues. I thought “uh oh” when I saw it. All’s well that ends well! We love your adventures and Bruce.😘 Till next time, Your North Carolina girl, Harriet

Large tarp in wind......problematical at best...hug amount of force being exerted on fabric, ropes, archer points. . Would have been interesting to see if outcome would have been different with a "four season" tent and their stronger poles.

Hello Tony! That was a beautiful spot, and for most occassions, a good setup. Over the years, I've done some adaptations to my camping setups for wind and rain, and what I've settled down to is have three things - have a tent big enough to do everything during bad weather, have the tarp hug the tent and minimize the the points where the wind can go between the tarp and tent, and use bungee cords to tie the tarp down - if the wind is such that the tarp will bow in/out - having the bungees make for a more "forgiving" system in terms of stresses and strains. Regardless, having that plan of retreat incase things go bad is the best! Keep up the adventures and thank you for the channel!

Me and my wife camped in a situation like this many years ago. The wind was unbearable and the weather wasnt much better. Going home at that point was not an option. We dont give up to easy. I parked the truck on the side where the wind was beating our camp to death. our vacation suddenly went like clockwork and we had a good time even though the conditions were as bad as they were. the truck made a great windbreaker.

Exact same thing happened to me once, went from 28 degrees and sunny to 8 degrees, windy and rainy. Tarp we put over the two tents tore off and collapsed, then one of the tents also collapsed (with me in it!!). We were so mad we tossed everything in a dumpster and left, worst camping trip ever.

New subscriber - love your videos - so relaxing in these awful times. You recently asked in one of your videos for recommendations and I have one, don't respond to trolls or even acknowledge their nasty remarks - they get a warped kick out of knowing that you read it and that it upset you - the best way to treat them, is to ignore them.

Great video even if the mini hurricane made a mess. I doubt much of anything would of held in those winds. A spare tent and tarp my have got you through another day and night. All in all, you came, saw and killed it! “The devil said to Tony, “you can’t handle the storm”! Tony said, “I Am The Storm! Hah 😡

Would it have made a difference if you had your vehicle facing the wing as a wind break? Bruce took off soon as things started to go wrong. Lol.

Agreed about the facing of the vehicle. Having it facing into or away from the wind would make the tarp more like a parachute then as a roof. No amount of anchoring would have kept it intact. Course, being in an open area near a coastline when facing a storm front, looks to have been not ideal. You'd probably need to have been near a natural wind break instead. Lesson learned. Glad Bruce liked being in that area. Looks like a wonderful location.

Wow. I’m in the uk and got caught in a storm, I and the tent managed to survive but some campers were not so fortunate. I have a very strong tent and always pitch well near a natural wind breaker. I had the car but did not have to get in, it was a close call though. It just proves how important the gear you use is.love the videos.👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽
