I bought a pair
I run Tru - Spec woodland cammies in rip stop for hunting here in fla. Bought 7 pairs of pants an shirts, it works for me in the swamps, keeps me cool in the heat, an matches the swamp real good in the palmetto's an woods. Thx for the vid PA
The old 5.56 mm ammo bandolier, is something we used to carry extra ammo in 20 round magazines which fit in them perfectly.
I've been wear the 5.11 pants. The mag pockets are good for holding your knife and flashlight so you don't have those getting in the way of your phone or wallet. The waterproofing doesn't last all that long, and they're not as Stain resistant as they say. 5.11 just had an end of the year sell and I got 4 pairs for $16.40 each instead of 80ish.

The taclite pro pants are ok but suck in flexibility. Their strike pants are a lot better.
Thanks for the preview. I ordered one right now.
Good stuff, Tru-Spec Pants are well made and a great price, def worth it!!!
been eyeing these on and off for a few years, helpful video
I love tru-spec pants
You are correct PA, I have been wearing them for several years, all in ranger green.
Thanks for the video
Nice review! I have two pairs of these pants and love them, except for one thing. The zipper is much shorter than my other Tru-Spec 24/7 pants. Thanks for all the great videos you've been doing.
Love these pants!
LOVE your reviews! Carry on! 😊

Glad you like them!
I have several pairs of these and I've had them for years. They are great.
I've been using these pants for the last 6 months and they are now my go to everyday pants. I was thinking of doing the same thing you did to the knee pad pockets. I own the coyote, black and OD green/black. Will be picking up another pair of coyote and probably the straight green. Great pants, great video.
I’ve been using their Ascent pants and so far I’ve really enjoyed them as a Pennsylvania native. We get decently hot summers as well as temps of 20 degrees or lower in our winters and so far the the pants haven’t let me down. The best thing about them is the pocket for the knee pad inserts are on the inside of the pant leg so no modifications needed in that regard. They’re also my go to for conceal carry due to the waist band being pretty dang stretchy (probably the same waistband system on the expeditions). Have you given those a try?
very nice. i own 5+ pairs of these pants and wear them everyday. they are all at least 2 years old, if not older. perfect amount and placement of pockets
I’ve swam in them multiple times, they dry out in a few minutes, super comfy and have held up well for years.
I’ve used the same pair of my Marine Corp issued forest digis for over a decade of elk hunting and treking in NE Oregon with barley a tatter to show for it.
Glad to see a good pair of recommended pants, as I don't have any "special" pants yet
Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll have to pick up a pair. I currently wear (and really like) Fjallraven Vidda Pros and Kebs. I love the brand but they’re ridiculously expensive.
I've been using the same pants for a handful of years now. So far my thoughts are their good pants with a few things I really don't like. The biggest issues I've had (from worst to minor) are: 1-the fly doesn't go down low enough 2-they're still too hot even with the vents for my area for 2/3 of both shoulder seasons and all summer. 3-even after multiple years of break in theyre still somewhat stiff and noisy AF 4-every time I've used the boot lace hook to keep the pant leg down its come off, but with the snap adjustment on the ankle cuff I've rarely had any real problem keeping them down in the first place. Been good pants and durable for sure even with the stretch panels and well worth the money, especially since I see them on sale for $35-50 regularly and even down to $25 sometimes.
Had a hole in my right cargo pocket. I used duck tape as a quick fix. Still working as is. Thank you.
Awesome 😎
Been lookin for a good pair of britches !
Finally a pant video! Its too short.
Can you do a video or a series on hot weather clothing and what your set up would be for dead of summer heat. Would love to hear you opinion
I did the same thing I added Velcro for the knee pads.
one issue is the leg length, and getting them hemmed would seem to be either very expensive or just not an option at all depending on your seamstress and their ability or willingness to do them
Airman, this Prior Service Marine and Soldier wears TruSpec 24/7 Expedition Trousers on a daily basis, when I Myself AM NOT wearing Woodland M81 BDU, 🦂 W2 OCP, Woodland MARPAT, UCP and Navy AOR 3.
Thanks for the video. Have you ever tried out Hydroblu water filters? I have two. One i carry a lot because its small. The other is still in its packaging for later use.
A Goretex version would be nice
Best pants I own
They do look great and there is much to be said for them. Except for the price.
Kool but I'm pretty sure they make bdu with knee pad slots
Just bought a pair of these Monday. Without even wearing them I already have doubts of them surviving the summer here, especially the stretch panels. They're nice pants, tho. Fit great. They're probably not much better than being naked when the briars come out tho.

Your mileage may very depending on environment and use.
Great review…thank you…I can feel the pain in my wallet already…😅
Didn’t major surplus use to sell these
My great friend and ally, these pants do not work for big thigh men. I will say my favorite pants right now are the beyond ventum pants as fit is perfect for big thigh homies as well as the beyond a9t
Do you have a vid detailing what you keep in the pockets?

Where are these pants made? (country)
Off topic question for you. And you might have a video I haven’t seen that addresses it. I’m thinking I want to add a Nalgene oasis to my chest rig because I don’t always have my pack on me. Do you usually keep water on your chest rig if so how?
@PreparedAirman

Hopefully, soon I will have something for a Nalgene. But for now I use a life water bottle in my kit. Just watch at the 6 min 10sec mark in this video kzread.info/dash/bejne/aX2t16l9kbaZh7g.htmlsi=4lCZjhqtxAim8GDY
I live in Idaho and it gets in the low 20s and teens. I normally wear fleece lined pants to compensate. How would your pants compare?
@PreparedAirman

When it gets that cold for me in Montana, I will wear a merino wool thin base layer and then these pants. With that configuration, I'm good to go. amzn.to/3HEnIx0
Check out the CQR they are just as good or better, I wear both and the cqr is cheaper and better IMO!!✊️🔥✌️💚
Wait you guys are wearing pants?
They look nice but 100% cotton pant aren't the best for my environment (northwest),.
What drone do you recommend?
@PreparedAirman

Depends on what you would like to do with it. For filming I started with are DJI mini 2. Its a good starter and it's at a cheaper price. If you get more serious into it I would recommend the Mavic Air 2. It has a lot more features on it and makes filming easier. Or you could go straight to the Mavic 3.
WHY CANT I FIND A 33 WAIST IN ANY TACTICAL PANT either they are to big (34) or i can’t bend over (32)
@PreparedAirman

I always do one size up and then use a belt. Very handy to adjust your belt after you eat too much or if you have a CCW pistol and holster.
@seanjarvis1316

I have that issue too some 32in are too small for me but 34in is too big. Levis makes jeanes in that odd size but I have yet to find any durable outdoor pants that are also water resistant in 33.
Kinda pricey bro. Esp if i need to add my own kneepads.
Not big on cotton for outdoor pants, even if its just 35%

These are actually the only cotton based items I use. Typically, everything else is merino wool or other materials.
