Man its hard to beat a rear tine tiller. I remember as a kid trying to run a front tine tiller and it would drag me all over the place haha. Nice footage!

I have one too and I love it. It is easy for me to handle and it always starts. Just a tip: walk off to the side as you till and you will have a nice bed to plant in. Not at all compacted by footprints. Never walk on your seed beds. Love seeing young people do what you are doing. Keep it up. Because of you I am thinking about Dorper Sheep!

I have this exact same tiller. Just completed the spring service on it...new spark plug, new air filter, oil change, carb cleaning. When starting the tiller, does the choke have to be wide open or partially open?

I don't like the troy bilt bronco i have the old 70s troy bilt horse with the kohler engine. Why did they change being able to offset the handles. Nice video

I do alot of grading and the way the blades turn they dont dig into the dirt so i stopped using it. Then i looked at it again and thought why dont I flip the blades so the point bites into the dirt and wow o wow im I able to grade hard dirt now!!!! Try it on hard dirt they wont do anything

I'm so jealous, your weather looks so nice. Here in Idaho we have had such a long winter it seems like it's never going to come to an end. It's supposed to be in the 50s today then boom right back in the 30s with snow again. Duckhead Homestead Are you near Starry Duckhead? They're the same, almost snowed in completely, ploughing snow mountains either side of their drive, almost as high as the one they live atop. lol

Essem Sween We live in the very southern part of Idaho in the high desert. Starry lives in the beautiful northern mountainous part of the state. I have lived in Idaho my entire life and I have never seen a winter like this in my 34 years of life. We will be glad when spring arrives :)

Yeah, I know you've had it really bad this year, we've been plagued with very high winds this Winter, not 22 tornadoes in a night bad, but prolonged high, hard winds with added rain. It could mean that they won't impose the hosepipe ban because of the 'drought' until May. Lol.

What happens to the blades if it hits a rock? (a biggish one, not a stone skipping size) & is that bed for potatoes?

+freakygeaktwo Maybe not quite a boulder freakyGT. But more than a piddly little stone that won't bother it. It looks to be about 12" - 18" wide and the mudguard on the back looks really substantial for the size of the rotors, It ploughed the grass down and looked like the bit of bed mulched with straw was tilled to a pretty fine tilth (although he'll need to rake the top for direct sowing) In a pasture type field like this one though, you just don't know what you might throw up, I wonder if it's difficult to mend a warped bit of blade.

I'm too chicken to use anything motorized :/ lol but I would have to say if you don't get a nice strong hammer and start pounding that blade to the right shape you want you'll never know how difficult it is or how easy it is either way a great work out for you ;) seems you know a bit about this machine too :D

freakygeaktwo Ha ha you couldn't be more wrong. I've never seen one before (I'm in a UK City) but I have planted seeds and sown spuds in a long row like he's making. You reckon it's a hit it with a hammer job? No special tools needed? Sweet!

could be you need a sledge hammer much heftier ;) sadly I'm only guessing it's best to talk to a metal smith for proper know how :) now I have to wonder what kind of clothing spuds make after you sown them up :D
