Hi Curtis , great video. Thanks for sharing . I bought a 2010 troy built bronco a few weeks ago . First time I drove it I got a burning rubber smell. Im guessing its a belt .. Last weekend was my first time using the mower to cut the grass . Pto belt jumped right off the pulleys. You mentioned you had to replace the drive belt a few other times . Do you think there may be an issue with these machines with the pulley tension being too tight .. Too loose ? Anybody else have the same issue?

Mine has 3 belts total. The drive belt in this video, the small transmission belt and the mower deck/blade belt.

Hey guy , its not an Automatic Transmission , its just a differential gear box . The variation in speed all takes place with that expanding -contracting drive pulley in the corner .

You dont have to drop that front pulley, just loosen the two bolts that hold the keeper tabs in place to give enough clearance to remove the belt. If you have a damaged pulley and need to remove it an impact wrench is alot easier than a socket and monkey wrench.

I know it’s old but for future interest people can get the model number off the seat go to jacks small engine.com type it in go to the schematics and it will give you the part numbers.

If its an MTD drive , the numbers 954-0468 or 754--0468 which is 41 1/2 inches long . but I found something just under 40 in, worked better ?

I agree , and a kid in grade 12 drafting could do a more informative drawing .

I just said fuck that shit. Belt too damn thick, can't get past the wall.

Nice video on a difficult, time consuming task. The second of the 2 nuts that suspend the front of the mower deck is a "lock nut". If you have an impact wrench you don't need to apply a pipe wrench to the front shaft in order to loosen the pulley nut. The 3-10mm nuts securing the rear pulley are more easily accessible if you remove the wheel/tire.
