Just because "he's saying something" (whatever tf that means lol) doesn't automatically mean it's good. Like break down his actual bars without the beat. Its really just OK. The concept maybe is alright, but nothing that hasn't been done before. I feel like people dislike this new wave or rappers so much, they'll like ANYTHING that's not "mumble rap". There's plenty of artists today that don't do "mumble rap" and would SHIT on Troy Ave creatively, lyrically, stylistically, etc. He's just too average. His saving grace is the beats he chooses which happen to be pretty good.
