All trout caught on a 5 gram generic spoon from Amazon. Line used was Varivas Infinity PE X8 0.2 and a section of 2# test FC leader. Hope you enjoy the video. This trout measured 20 inches and was a heavy fish...gave a great battle on the UL rod. Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for watching.

It stinks under there...LOL.
I have been hoping you would give some angling technique tips. I have noticed your rapid small twitches when fishing Trout Magnets for crappies and would like to hear and see about some of the subtlies and specifics of it. Nice trout! I'll bet your heart was thumping when he was making those last runs as he was approaching the shore.

Will get a tip video after trip to Arkansas....those big ones always get one excited.
Good fish, looking forward to future videos. How about an up close tutorial on how you tie your fluorocarbon leader to that ultra fine diameter braid. I have been using the Varivas Avani Saltwater Finesse in the .2 PE for open water cast and retrieve last two weeks and really like it.

Will give that a try Stan when I get back from Arkansas.
Tighten your drag already, the spool is spinning while your reeling. Doesn't have to be break the 4lb line tight but a lil more drag tension. Pretty fish.

@@troutmagnetmanI have recently been fishing barbless for trout and have been experimenting with a drag setting like yours after seeing the japanese do it area fishing. Care to explain your thoughts on the light drag and reeling into the drag? Thanks love the channel

@@dreess8085 Thanks for watching....if one is using true 2# test line and you don't keep a loose drag you will lose a lot of fish. And if one is using 2# test Ester line it is imperative to keep a loose drag.

@@troutmagnetman thanks for taking the time to reply. Yes I use #2 floro for my mainline, however I typically have my drag set tighter to be able to steer the fish a bit better and get it in quicker but not tight enough to break under tension. I guess my question is do you think that light drag helps keep the barbless hook in the fishes mouth any better? And if so do you concern yourself with line twist at all? Thanks again

@@dreess8085 I have not had any line twist in over 12 years. Some of that is attributed to the lines I use but most is tk the JDM spinning reels. The reels I use have great line rollers…all have 2 bearings in the line roller. Believe me it makes a difference. As to the barbless hooks. I do not like fishing with them but sometimes you have to. It is just the luck of the draw to keep a fish buttoned up with those.
