What lure were you using when you were vibrating the rod by tapping it? It looked like that method was pretty effective
You make it look so easy! Great variety of techniques with an array of baits!
great video as always, good to see new rivers an creeks you fish, you always find a way to catch them

I fish right there off of that bridge all the time I live on a neighborhood in walking distance from there
This looks more like a creek than a river, anyway at least it's a nice River. Also it's very calm and not too rough. Nice fish catching right there and good sizes too. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

Awesome trout fishing they were so beautiful and I just loved the scenery I recently did a trout fishing video it is so peaceful especially since I have been distracted with school love that bait that you use I have the exact same one my favourite is the lucky strike spinners thought anyway have a happy Halloween!
Tip: cast right , reel left. It doesn’t take long to get used to and you don’t miss hits while switching hands. 👍🏻

I also tournament bass fish (with right hand reels). Makes for better muscle memory to retrieve and hook set the same 😄

@@NRVOutdoors I’ve always had a better feel with holding rod left and reeling right , especially drifting bait. It’s just the switch that bothers me. My buddy casts left really well and reeks right and he’s right handed. I can cast into a tree left handed. 😂. Whatever works is important. If you had the spinning reel upside down, I’d probably not subscribe. 🤪
Nice Video, Sure that Rock Bass Wasnt a Roanoke Bass? Roanoke Bass are native to there but I am sure some rock bass which are not native to the Noke have been stocked there.

I'm from the New River Valley
Seems to me fall stockings are always smaller fish. Or at least that’s my experience lately. They seem to get smaller each fall. But I’m sure some larger ones get mixed in. I’ll be fishing more of the Roanoke area and a little further west compared to normal this year. Maybe I’ll run into you.

Another great vid. I was waiting for this . I spoke to a gentleman that met u that day.Where is a good place to get inexpensive hemostats and tool retractors please?
@gmwilkes
2 жыл бұрын
I use hemostats from harbor freight. Inexpensive and work great. Have been working well for the last 2 years. As for retractor, I use a homemade tool leash and clip my hemostats to my backpack strap.

Why are the state stocked fish so small? Every place I fish it's been the same little rainbows every where I go?

Not sure to be honest
Hi Mr NRV. Sorry. I don't know your name! Question. Which line in your opinion is best for durability, sensitivity, and especially avoiding line twist for ultralight spinning?? Thanks. LOVE the channel.

I know it sounds too good to be true but it actually is! I use Berkley Vanish 100% fluorocarbon. You can pick it up almost everywhere and it's by far the best bang for your buck!

@@NRVOutdoors Hey. I don't know if you've ever tried Runcl fluorocarbon coated mono, but it's half the price of Vanish and an excellent product.
Rock bads just raised a question. I live in Idaho, which is Pacific Northwest. I've never seen a rock bass in my life, but I have seen things like pikeminnow and chubs. Are those just regional or do you hook them too?
@NRVOutdoors

The rock bass AKA "red eye" can be found all over but there are healthy populations on the east coast for sure!

Next to the green goat & skate park
I never understood why they would stock trout so small ? I mean people are going to keep them no matter if there legal size or not, if that's all there catching.
@NRVOutdoors
2 жыл бұрын
I'm thinking they expected a huge turnout so they opt for small & more over large & less. I agree though they all got kept

I got a small question. When I use Trout Magnet, I float sometimes will instantly sink into the water and then float back to the surface. How should I handle this situation? Should I set the hook? Because I tried several times to set the hook in this situation and I didn't hook up a fish.
@NRVOutdoors
2 жыл бұрын
When in doubt set the hook! It could be you are tickling the bottom as well causing the float to dip under. That's typically a good thing as the fish are also close to the bottom most times
