You're right! Shoot. I did have some of the other populate spells in my hand at that point, so I would have most likely used one of them instead.

I always have trouble making Grixis decks that work in multiplayer. I own most of the cards you do, and run a Kess combo deck, but it isn't any fun. What's your secret to your Mana curve or deck recipie?

@@vegamegagf probably salty over the windfall. Plus he was the only other blue player. I think the impulse Cyclonic Rift to bounce the hostage taker was unnecessary, though.

I have always appreciated your artistic touches with the celestial bodies as backgrounds and classic music to accompany that verbal velvet you call a voice. However.. this time the music was maybe a bit more dramatic and serious than I'm used to with your videos. I'll always welcome these extra touches that you add. I'm just pointing out that it was noticed.

Love to see another Niv Mizz reborn deck. Make me realize that I should probably run Skyshroud claim instead of various mana rocks since I too run Mirari's Wake and either skyshroud or the artifact can't be hit by Niv.

Not a trostani deck but my ghired runs it I had trostani ,mirror march and anointed proccesion .I played a sarra's avatar... lest just say we dident realy calulate it but it was enough for the table to desisde commander damadge was the only option. Left cuz I hit 8mirror march triggers and had about 30+ life

Trostani + phyrexian processor + altar of dementia was an awesome line of play

Am I wrong, or could Chris have still been able to send Niv to the command zone when Max was taking control of him? I feel like i've heard/read somewhere you can always choose to put your commander into the CZ even if you're being controlled?

my best citadel play was when it was turn 7 and there was an omniscience on top and I was like "fuck it, Ill go off"

Another reason could be that there's nothing I could get from Fabricate I really needed at the moment and decided to just see what I could get off the top before committing 3 mana to Fabricate.

I would have attached the Blade of Selves to STE and swung for the extra 2 lands.

Max here, I dont remember what I took but I know it was nothing too important, I was really aiming for his Reservoir since he had about 20 cards left in his library

I was thinking of building Niv Mizzet Reborn as my only 5 color deck. Golos is obviously better but everyone plays it so I wanna have something a little different

You tapped trostani to populate the processor token, but she didn't have haste. Trostani was still summoning sick. :O

@@MTGMuddstah no worries! Just figured I'd point it out. I get caught up in populating processor tokens too. It's way to much fun. Sadly my play group usually kills my zendikar resurgent and mirari's wake so I don't usually get to the critical mass you did. Ahaha

How fun is tristani to play, it looks to fun watching you go off with it?

Joel got so much hate when all he had were rock. The rest of the board didnt recognize the growing uninterrupted threat steadily growing right next to him. This game also confirms my thoughts on land destruction. If you can blow up 4 of my grixis rocks i can blow up 4 of your green land ramp.

@@shilohartisan Greven. The new one from commander set. Forgot about Brion. You can sink life to one shot someone and draw a stupid amounts of cards. And the deck gives Him plenty lifelink to work with.

All of my decks are known to explode out of nowhere and sadly that reputation is pretty much set in stone at this store, but that's why I try to build around that problem haha.

@@philllllllll To be honest your deck did look suspiciously like a cEDH deck, I probably would have reacted the same way as they did this game. Also, is your deck creatureless? I don't think we saw a single one other than your commander, and even he's only pretending to be a creature! @@Ceracio lol. Don't worry about it. But no this isn't even close to a cEDH deck. Although I apply "competitive" deck-building principles. Playing good ramp. Not wasting slots on "do nothing" cards, etc. And I have access to a collection of cards that's pretty high budget, this deck is just a pile of neat spells I like with a superfriends theme. Built to be as efficient as it can be while staying on-theme so that I don't spend most games twiddling my thumbs waiting for my deck to draw the right cards.

@@philllllllll Yeah, I got that after having a butchers at the decklist, but in this particular game you played a few cards that I personally associate with cEDH - Lotus Petal, Jace v2, Fire Covenant, Fabricate, Windfall, Lim-Dûl's Vault, etc. - thus my comment about it looking like a cEDH deck.

@@Ceracio Good cards are good cards. I'm not sure that a 3cmc instant speed selective boardwipe that's cheap $$$ should be "associated with cEDH" so much as jyst recognized as a good card for BRx decks

When the Olivia player took the Niv players turn they could have used the citadel to basically kill the Niv player.

Muddstah had a game altering play that was illegal. Muddstah activated Trostani the turned she entered with no haste enabler. EDIT: Fixed a mistake on my end and grammar.

When a land is tapped with mirari’s and zendikar on the fiel it trapos for 4. Double for one and double a second time

Actually, it won't. People call them "mana doublers", but they actually reads "add an aditional mana...", therefore, with both of them out, each of his lands would tap for three mana

I thought the same thing. Lol. I could never run Zendikar Resurgent. My playgroup would blow it up so fast. That's if someone didn't Mana Drain or Spell Swindle it as I cast it. You have to be really careful casting big spells around here. But yeah, do these guys not learn? They're just gonna let you have two mana doublers on the battlefield? Lol!

i love your videos but to be honest I'm tired of seeing the same good stuff cards over and over again. i want to see cards that are good because they work with your commander, your strategy , your synergy. the decks have been really homogenized lately. that said it was a great end with the phyrexian processor and trostani synergy coupled with aetherflux. i want to see more like that

I'm happy to see that you crushed your opponents without breaking a sweat because they clearly seemed to not care that all of your mana tapped for 3 and you had 3 times the life they did. Their ignorance was their demise lol

Your Trostani deck is effective, but it has gotten boring to watch you Aetherflux Reservoir people to death all the time, and to watch people leave you with both mana doublers out for any amount of time.

It's our responsibility to stop him. Which we haven't done. To be fair this video is older than the one with Chainer from a few weeks ago. It was recorded near War of the Spark release and we've since learned out lesson! Unfortunately what you're seeing are some of the growing pains of learning how Andrew plays and we're adapting.

Chris has super poor threat assessment. He had multiple opportunities to hostage taker away cards that were better than any of the mana rocks that he stole. I also highly disagreed with Joel’s cyclonic rift on the hostage taker. I cringed hard for a few minutes straight.
