As a Jamaican I can't help but worry a out how things turn out every hurricane season. The last big hurricane that hit us in 1988 was a cat 3 almost 4 at landfall and people are still recovering from it in some rural areas. Hoping mother nature is merciful 😢

Dean also hit you guys really badly in 2007. It did a significant amount of damage to the agriculture industry. I’ll certainly keep you updated on all this.

@PatsPathPredictor and hurricane 🌀 Ivan in 2016. Ivan passing 50 miles south of Jamaica as a CAT 4 and Jamaica was badly impacted.

@@user-te2us7bi7k I know. I've been through both but when I did my research on Gilberts effect on Jamaica back then and saw a few videos it looks ten times worse than what Ivan or dean did to us though they would've been worse if they hit us directly. Let's hope things work out in our favor this year 🙏

all I'm going to say is, it doesn't matter if that tropical wave gets a name or rank (become a hurricane). It's still a hazard for the eastern Caribbean with the rain. Just hoping for a cool down. edit: spelling. And watch any east of Barbados

I`m waiting on a 2nd solar charge controller, a Victron 100/30 with bluetooth, to be able to power my window AC from solar on sunny days with a 12v 300ah LiFeP04 battery. I`ve declared WAR on Mother Nature and her terrible storms with power outages! I just got a 40 amp plug in charger for it to use with a gas generator when needed plus I have a smaller one that`s 20 amps. Eventually I`m getting a 2nd Victron because they can be synced together and my other no-name one will be for backup. I watched neighbors go broke putting fuel in generators after Laura & Delta in 2020 and that`s when I decided to learn all I can about solar because to use it off-grid you have to be your own installer, tech support, maintenance and repair expert.

You sound very knowledgeable. I have solar panels installed at my house and office and they work perfectly

@@gregd4633 I`m hard-headed enough to be determined to learn all I can about it until I trust that I`m doing it the right way and safely. It requires a lot of reading and studying. I have a brain injury so it has been very difficult at times and it took me almost two years to have the confidence to go ahead and test my homemade system, troubleshoot, and decide what to do next to get it ready for full-time use. We have way too many long power outages in Louisiana and storms can happen at any time. Not even a police car drives through here after hurricanes to check on residents so we`re on our own.

yeah pat s dj Darius here from Trinidad i realise that high pressure staying in place thats why those tropical waves staying south ,,,atleast sahara dust will prevent storm from forming for now

not necessarily, the dry air can potentially intensify the thunderstorm activity if it stay far enough south of the Saharan air layer
