I’m in there quite a bit lately! It’s an awesome place! 😁
That unidentified fish was an Eibli angelfish. There's also a tang that mimics the look of that angelfish. Seems like a really nice LFS.👍🏾

It is certainly a very unique destination, and I'm glad I get to visit! They are very knowledgeable and friendly, and I can't wait to go back myself. 😁
Fish at 6:52 it's a Centropyge eibli 😍

Thank you! I figured it was some type of angelfish. Usually the better they look, the less reef compatible they are. 😆 Still a very nice fish!
Last time I was there(years ago)the far room to the right when you walk in was closed down. I remember thats where they had the most coral flats and a huge shark tank with zebra sharks. Was bummed it was off limits last time.

I know what you are talking about, but I think you will find that there still is a lot to choose from. This place has been through a lot, but they have continued to support the reefing hobby where others have left. I suggest Reefers come check it out. 😁

@@Reefer_Matt 100% agree, Tropicorium is always worth stopping in, if you’re in the area. I think they have more fish and coral selection then most lfs nowadays.
You should visit & record a video at Detroit reef club in Ferndale & stingray bay in Eastpointe! I feel like their by far the best shops in the area

I know one of the owners there, but haven't visited yet. Maybe someday soon. But the Tropicorium is my lfs, and I recommend Reefers check it out.
The first quality reef store and the only one that i trust. The Tropicorium Mini-Reef is the only place i shop. Highly recommend.
I wish it was closer to me 😢 but that queen angel it's not a fish that's a puppy dog I love it when fish eat out of your hands

It certainly seemed like I could pet it! 😁
Would you mind giving a run down of the process of trading in coral to a LFS? Are you ever asking for cash or is it typically trade-in value for other livestock / dry goods? How do you determine value? Do you agree which colonies/frags to trade in before you arrive?

It will depend on what you agree to. I typically try to give my lfs a 50% margin of profit, so a frag that is worth $20 retail, I ask for $10 credit in trade, etc. I trade frags in for things like salt and fish. It can be a good deal for both of you if you can supply the lfs with frags on a regular basis. Most times I message before hand and get an agreement before bringing them in. I determine the value by what they go for in my area.
