They also opend a outdoor area with pools and slides in 2018, of course only open during the summer, but it is even bigger now

I went there from the UK last year and stayed overnight. Outdoor sections were open in April, though we were lucky and had good weather. One of the best water parks I've been to - and I've been to a lot. Would also recommend Area 47 in Austria, and Galaxy Erding near Munich looks awesome too (will be there in summer)

I was there at night because on daytime it is to expensive. It was verry great and its not so far from Berlin. So when you make holidays in Berlin you can make a trip to Tropical Islands you only drive 45minutes to this place.

I wonder if they still get up at 6am to put their towels on the sunbeds in that place????? 😂

Nope...because when they get up at 06:00 ,they find the sunbeds ,mostly and already, occupied by the Brits.Who are still asleep on the Sunbeds... drunk af, covered by their own vomit. And the remaining Sunbeds occupied with towels from Brits that allready got up at 05:00 .

I think it is a good idea and it is better than having an old building decaying and becoming an eye sore. Of course it is not Hawaii or the Caribbean, but if you don't have the money and the time to take your family of four on a trip around the world, I think this is a good option. They probably employ a lot of people as well, which is good for that particular region's economy year round. Just my opinion, you don't have to agree with it.

More northern countries need to be doing this. If enough did this, it could actually lower the demand on tourist sites like Bali, Thailand, etc... which will then lower those prices as well. The US has tons of theme parks, but no enclosed ones... Game changer!

In time I'm sure that will happen.

I've been there 3 times and I loved it, I loved how the peacocks walked freely around. And the warm sand but there were insects in it. The very first time I was there the air was very suffocating and it was hot. You could smell the wood and the trees. Every day it was something new to do and try you did not get bored. In the nighttime, you could go to a club or maybe a spa or watch a movie on a big screen

Wonderful example of ingenuity,middle of the winter rainforest vacations, brilliant.

Just for context: the building was built for a project called „Cargo Lifter“. It was an ultra-heavy-cargo project, whereby airships were planned to transport cargo of up to 1,000 tons heavy. A German house maker even pre-ordered two of the airships to distribute entire full-brick houses across Europe. The project however was completely mis-planned and poorly managed, leading the Cargo Lifter to never make it to the market. The project was ended in 2001, leaving this huge building empty in the middle of nowhere.

This is amazing. Man...i love it.

This makes so much sense. Many of the coldest places where people reside are some of the richest areas or at least aren’t poor. Which makes building things like this a totally super smart idea. You could build a place like this large enough and literally live in any climate in any part of the world.

I've visited the park twice now and it's really quite cool though their slide portfolio should be expanded. Some of the slides have up towards 45 minute queues, even on relatively quiet days and they are doing something at least. They're currently in the middle of replacing the little water playground by the beach with a much larger verson with a bunch of big slides attached, including one of those where you go into a massive bowl and drop through the center.

I've dreamed about something like this for years!

What a great idea to convert something like this for the good of the people!

Dubai is full of Arab engineers and the arabs built great civilization when Europe was in its dark age. I wonder, as a Bengali, what are you proud of? Been there, had a great day, it's very impressive and extremely spacious. Located next to the highway in between Berlin and Dresden.

I went here a couple of years ago, after one or two days you have done everything in the park.

It’s great but it has A LOT of unused space... Unless they’re going to install a giant LED or projection screen on the ceiling to simulate various skies, they could use the height of the building to build different levels and install new attractions. They could have tall rides, closed off areas to host private parties, zip lining, and even a small hotel! There are ways to do that so it doesn’t feel claustrophobic. And frankly, even if they did all that, they could STILL install a screen on the ceiling to simulate sky! That seems like the obvious next step in creating a tropical oasis that has the feeling of being outdoors, and I’m surprised they haven’t done it already!
