Hi krt. When brooding, the female barely eats for 3.5-4 weeks. As a results she gets thin and weak. In the wild after breeding occurs, the female hides and no one harasses "her". In the aquarium the females can barely hide and harassed by all the group members. So, to make it easy for the female, that "she" will be able to start eating again and get strong, it is recommended to strip females in the aquarium .

Another reason is that if the female releases fry in the aquarium not all of them will survive. Off course you need to have experience to strip females to avoid harming them. I hope it's understood ;)

I saw today in my tank the male pulling out the egs and the female was catching and keeping in her mouth , what should I do now? Can ai keep the couple together in a separated tank ?
