@@iamtinfamousxii9326 for example, Guardians: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT has a pretty cool helix around the moon as a decent finale. Cheetah Hunt at Busch Gardens: Tampa has a final launch into an ejector airtime hill as a great finale. Velocicoaster at Universal's Islands of Adventure has an amazing finale with a very low heartline roll over water. I agree, Tron badly needed a great finale to make up for the short ride time and build-up.

Rode this in Shanghai multiple times, and my biggest complaint was how short it felt. Still fun though with the cool and unique train theming, especially at night when the lights really glow. Riding it front row felt like I was flying, whereas riding it back row felt like I was racing a peloton of other Tron lightcycles. Even if Tron isn't necessarily one of the better Disney franchises, I still appreciate how thematically it all fits together with the motorcycle train cars. Definitely feels like a more cohesive ride experience compared to these recent coaster overlays Disney's been doing with slapping Star Wars or Avengers over their older coaster infrastructure like they've done permanently in Paris. Those just feel like they tried too hard pigeonholing popular IPs onto pre-existing coaster designs that made it all feel not quite as cohesively themed as the originals with bizarrely storied excuses that just don't work. But that hype John Williams Star Wars music will always give Hyperspace Mountain a pass in my eyes 👌🏻 Anyways, modern Disney coaster tangent aside, if you're expecting a short, pretty tame, cool techno theme of a roller coaster, you'll enjoy it. But don't expect anything more, it's just another mildly themed, family-friendly, dark-ride Disney coaster.

yep. something like the velocicoaster as its coasting around the inside of the paddock, and then bursts through the walls 'with the raptors' all the way past the top hat feels more.....like 'chapters' in the ride? i guess? this just feels like a little 4 minute 'hey we go outside, and now we go in!' thing, more like a quick tech demo then a drawn out thing, ya know?

It sounds great for me. Coasters are really hard for me in general, but if there are no inversions (which obviously there aren't on this), I'm always willing to get it a try. Tame but still fun is my pace. It appears to be a little different than the Shanghai version. Are you able to tell what the key differences are?

Correction, Tron is one of Disney’s best IPs, however Disney hasn’t respected the world of Tron and decided to focus way too much on Star Wars and the MSheU.

I just wish it wasn't so short. The people riding in this video are having the time of their life, but hearing that joy cut off so early sucks.

It's short but looks really fun, definitely a night time ride so you can get the full experience of the light canopy outside. I'm really bummed I'm not gonna get to ride this when I go next week

All Disney do atm is coasters in the dark. Universal are away ahead of them now

7 years for a clone of a coaster that already exists. It is a fine addition to the park, but that construction time was abysmal. I’m also a firm believer that the Florida version should’ve been a dueling coaster.

They had major ground water/ foundation issues. They ended up doing a ton of extra work for ride supports/structure work. Caused major delays + Covid.

Just watched the Shanghai version and it does have the light following the bikes...what makes it look different is that I think wdw version has a longer tunnel/straight track leading up to the launch...seems also to be more bright so the light really shines

That Disney magic kingdom looks fun!

This video looks great. I love Tron and this ride truly immerse you in that world. I still think the duration of the ride is way too short. There’s literally pre-shows on other rides longer than this which makes me have mixed feelings about this ride. Other recent roller coasters like Cosmic Rewind, Velocicoaster and Hagrids offer a more elaborate, longer and more thrilling experience. Still excited to visit after it opens.

I only saw the outside part testing when I was recently there but there's a good amount of track indoors in the dark. It could definitely be a little longer though and it seems a little on the tamer side, which is fine for disney. Space Mountain could still have the edge on intensity but the theming on this one is great. I wonder how powerful that launch is as well

I remember seeing signs for this while riding the Walt Disney World Railroad almost five years ago now (I remember that trip because I had just gotten my drivers license, but I digress). It was during the Halloween party, and even before my family went to the party I saw signs for this attraction around Toontown Fair, Oops, I mean, Fantasyland. Man, I feel old.

that;s actually pretty cool. reminds me the pony express ride at knotts, but longer and way cooler. cheers.

@@xCaLLMeGHeTTo true, but I raise you some math! Since I couldn’t find an official stat, I roughly timed the start of the launch to the end of the magnets to be ~5.3 seconds. If we assume linear acceleration, we can take the top speed (from wikipedia), 59.3 mph, convert it to m/s, ~26.51 m/s, divide that by 5.3 seconds, giving us 5.3 m/s^2. Convert that to g and we get 0.54g. Not quite a kids ride but definitely not slam your head back intense. For reference the same math on velocicoaster’s first launch (the stronger of the two) comes out to 1.14g, just over double the acceleration. (Using the rcdb stat of 0-50 mph in 2 sec) Now sure magnet launches usually aren’t linear and tend to either punch harder in the beginning and mellow out, or start gradually and push hardest at the end, so the forces will differ slightly but it’s likely pretty close.

Can't wait to ride this in April!

@@someguitardude8462 I mean it really has nothing to do with edge. Harry Potter is a terribly written series. It only got popular due to it's characters and drama. The ride is kinda mid tbh too. Like it's whatever but I'm going there for velocicoaster everytime.

I think Disney could really benefit with a good hyper or giga coaster that's not enclosed in darkness with screens and lights. This just feels like what they did to Test Track or Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind - doesn't feel like quality attractions.

This is more about the visual experience like a modern Space Mountain for example, Disney isn't a coaster park.

Is it now open or just test rides?

They should have a physical lightcycle (on a separate, parallel track) that travels next to the cart.

I'm humbled to say I have ridden this ride in every row, including in the accessible seats. This ride's system and layout is very similar to Rock 'N Roller Coaster except you don't go upside down. It also feels similar to Hagrid's at Universal with the speed and the way the track curves. So whether you like RNRC and Hagrid's is the big factor in whether you will like Tron.

Yes, but you need permission to film. I don't reccomend trying to bring a camera in the park without asking in advance. They're pretty good about allowing it when mounted safely!

I mean cool they got it done but I feel like they should’ve at least extended some dark ride sections and maybe even had a story if it took them that long to build it, but it’s exactly the same as Shanghai’s and just as short doesn’t feel like they put a ton of effort into this honestly

It’s awesome that it’ll be ready for opening day soon. It would’ve been so cool if Disney would do a remake of the 2005 Disney world commercial where Mickey wished for rides from around the world to come to Disney World. Ratatouille and Tron would be featured. If you guys seen the 2005 commercial, that’s the one where Soarin, Lights Motors Action Extreme Stunt Show, and Cinderella-bration are mentioned
