However, saying that people can't control their weight even if they are on a diet is a bad mindset. Of course there is the rare case where you have Cushing disease or something like that, however most people who have this mindset can lose weight if they follow the simple calories in calories out equation. The fat acceptance movement amplified this loser mindset where you can't do anything about your situation.
