In this episode, I went trolling in the Mako Pro Skiff 17 for Spanish Mackerel. I used Yozuri deep diver lures that Captain Joe Raines from @HeadFirstFishing recommended. I was a couple of miles out in the Gulf of Mexico trolling in 30 to 50 ft of water.

Great Video, Have you taken skiff into Shallow water? If you have, How shallow can you get while running boat? Do you have a jackplate

I don’t have a jack plate. It drafts 8 inches with the motor up, I try not to go in under a foot or so
I have been wanting to get over to the skyway pier. Thanks for a little motivation.

Thanks! I don’t know where to put the flush mounts on the back cause I have the bigger gas tanks getting in the way in the bottom

where did you get those rod holders? i have determined there are no good spots to put trolling rod holders on my mako skiff

Another great video!!! I’ve never tried trolling. Couple questions…. Do you just go back and forth when you are trolling? Which of the lures were you catching on? Deep or shallow? How far are the lures behind the boat?

I went out about 2 miles and 2 miles back probably. Shallow diver was working in this video. I was going 5 to 9 miles and hour and would drop the lure in the water and waited 15 to 20 seconds to close the bail.
