I haven't yet watched a playthrough where someone actually went through the first keydoor because they all are like "haha what about this coin haha funny option to put here" and small jump into it "just to demonstrate" as they speak, and then die and don't get to know. It's glorious.
The completionist in me is very grateful for you always 100%-ing the troll levels.
The red coin troll magic is also clever design because it gives you the linearity of a standard level but minimises backtracking and repeating trolls you already know how to dodge.
8:23 "We're going to go in this door, I don't know if this is smart or not..." Literally the only path he could take. Never change, Carl
a nonnegative environment is a huge impact. once time in school we watched a movie for class and it triggered like 2 or 3 panic attacks. i don't remember much about the movie, but i do remember the panic attacks.
Mr. Larl ! How do birds learn to fly?! They wing it!!

No love for the fact that there was finally a troll solution that was jumping into the spike?
Hey Carl, non-hyperactive ADD person with a fairly high dose of instant release Dexedrine here, any stimulant is going to be prone to cause/worsen hyperactivity when you start your treatment or up the dose, but after a few days it starts to settle back down. Everyone has a different therapeutic window for stimulants, in my experience every specialist i've worked with started whatever medication they wanted to try very low, and very gradually upped the dosage, with regular check-ins. While i suspect that someone with a bad case of hyperactivity is going to be quite the challenge to manage during this onboarding process, i'd assume that they too will develop a tolerance, where a correct dose of stimulants should at least not worsen the hyperactivity component. As far as method of action, in my case, i don't feel it's a question of having internal stimulation (rwar); i liken my brain to how Hal acts in this classic scene from Malcom in the Middle: kzread.info/dash/bejne/c5aHx8qchJSfpZM.html. I usually don't end up wrenching on my car, but rather some minor annoyance at work can easily send me in a tailspin where i lose half a day coding a solution or machining a part to fix something because that annoyance is literally a shiny at the bottom of a pit that i can't ignore. I should mention that i'm in accounting, so while being able to code and machine can be useful in a pinch, i've lost a couple jobs because i've had issues staying in my lane. Too high a dose of stimulants in my case will worsen this kind of behavior, but at my current level they basically help my critical sense and/or will power assert themselves better, so I can both recognize that i'm about to journey down another rabbit hole and pump the brakes before i commit time and efforts to something not actually worthwhile. Tl;dr stimulants good if you need them, but they require some time to get used to and should be monitored regularly. Thanks for coming to my TED talk everyone!

The reason stimulants have the effect they do on people with the hyperactive form of ADHD (in that it appears to "calm" the person down and make them more focused) is because the pre-frontal cortex part of the brain is underdeveloped in ADHD-hyperactive people. The pre-frontal cortex is what manages focus and task-sequencing, as well as guiding your motor control functions to do whatever it is you need to be doing. Stimulants improve the pre-frontal cortex's functioning so that you can better control your energy and direct your focus, thus causing you to feel calmer and more focused. It really is a counter-intuitive result, but it's the truth. That's why people who don't have ADHD shouldn't take stimulant ADHD meds because their pre-frontal cortex is already functioning at proper levels, and thus the stimulant effect ends up being too much and they become overly wired and amped up.
At 5:11 my browser crashed right as the screen went black from you entering the pipe and I had a moment of confusion thinking you messed up so hard that even just watching a recording of it breaks everything. xD

"Analysis Paralysis" is a really good expression, I like it. :D
It amazes me that you haven't already named a video this
I like your "health" sections at the end. Lifts my spirits up and makes me feel unique, loved and appreciated. Most importantly, it makes me feel like I'm understood by not just one person, but a crowd of people who are able to come together. Especially so, since it's from a community around a game I don't even own. It makes me realise how many people are out there that *get it*, so to speak.

The term is used frequently in the board game world, usually negatively with people whose turns take forever. I think that's why there's a timer in chess tourneys.

"How To ADHD" has a lot of good videos you might like, too. :)
In my psychopharmacology course we learned stimulants basically activate the part of the brain (frontal lobe) that is responsible for planning, consequences, and saying stop and think before I do that. So that part of the brain being more active by the stimulant helps it control the rest of the brain that doesn’t think and just does stupid shit.
As soon as Carl uploads it gets sent straight to the top of my recommended. Love it

7:15, It was explained to me completely differently, that it activated the calm, stfu part of your brain (hence why lack of appetite one of the side effects, it's activating the part of the brain that controls satiety)
Ah yes, the best thing to watch at 1 AM :D
In order to be stimulated, we sometimes have to take dopamine detoxes because we're so fried from the overstimulation, its a very neat balance we strike between finding happiness in things and becoming addicted to that happiness.
I get super excited when Carl plays troll levels

I saw this level being played twice now, and it is really interessting how both are going for every fire flower in the level although it teaches you in the first screen to not do so :D
23:57 Nice thing about key-coin levels is that they don't necessarily need an elaborate dev exit to beat from CP - you just need to make the "last state" be starting with no red coins, since that's how the player starts from CP when uploading. You'll note in this level you pick up on red coin before the CP, so I suspect that's how this level works. Doesn't solve the "clear from start" though, which probably *is* some elaborate dev exit.
Glad I wasn't the only one to try the bomb on the switch trick thinking I was being a genius......
0:42 Carl: There coil be a gap there. Me knowing how ramps work: *facepalm*
We live in a community exquisitely dependent on troll magic, in which hardly anyone knows anything about troll magic.

All the time i listen to you talking about ADHD i feel very related to the symtoms and your story as im in my 30s aswell. Im finally going to set an appointment and a lot of strength to do it definitely comes from what you have shared.
The way I heard the ADD stimulant explained, is that their minds are racing but not their bodies. The stimulant makes the body and mind more in sync, which reduces a lot of the problems.
