Hey dude. I really hope you see this. So I went to rehab with Katya in Arizona and she pretty much introduced me to RuPaul, didn’t know who she was when she got there and like she literally changed my life. I HATED my feminine traits before I met her. She taught me and showed me how beautiful being a feminine guy could be and I couldn’t thank her enough. If you see this, if you could please send her my love and just tell her thank you so much. Huge fan of both of you and love what you do! Xoxo Ian 🫶

The fact that you have a fully indigenous maternal line and it took you this long to reconcile your economic situation with racism speaks to how silly blood quantum is. Yeah you look white but you grew up in your Ojibwe mother’s house, who grew up in her Ojibwe mother’s house. I love it when you claim your indigenous heritage 💕💕💕💕 Love from South Africa 🇿🇦

People also tend to forget that the history of racism is not only about the colour of your skin, but that much of it was also about phrenology and trying to separate humans based on traits such as brow bone structure, nose width, size of lips etcetera. In certain racist historical and current contexts, Trixie would not read as the, mainly US-centric, category white, and it still is that way in places around the world.

I really love how honest and clear she describes her wealth. Most rich/famous people I have heard seem to almost deny how much money they have as to not come off offensive to us “poors” or appear to be more relatable when really it’s more offensive to pretend to have less when it’s obvious you’re wealthy

i think the difference between your wealth and other "rich" people is that you actually work. like we as an audience see you working constantly and there's a clear comittment to what you do and the people that work for you. most other 1 percenters don't actually do any work. you give as much as you get back which is so rare and admirable

I’m obsessed with how matchy everything is in this video. Everything is the perfect shade of pink. None of the pinks clash, but they also don’t blend into each other. The vertical lines in the hair match the vertical lines in the curtain background. Even the eyeshadow shape matches the Trixie heart and the heart earrings.

I love hearing Trixie discuss her Indigenous family. I just want to add that quantifying Indigenous identity is not necessary -- it was only ever colonial governments that imposed a blood quantum cut off on Indigenous citizenship. Our Indigenous tribes are nations, not a race, and as such, our nations determine citizenship, not colonial racialized systems designed to legislate us out of existence. I hope Trixie continues on this journey of rediscovery and reconnection.

Honestly, Trixie is one of the very few people Im fine with being rich: We saw her do it all herself basicaly, she still does a lot of it herself, she is queer and indigenous, grew up so poor, supports her family, created workspaces for other queer people and ìs an excellent speaker/voice for the community (even though it is not her favorite thing). She is unironicaly just fierce. Not gonna lie, I am a bit worried about which avenues will get the chop, but it is understandable.

7:05 I just want to say THANK YOU Trixie for saying this - a lot of us Indigenous people grow up “white” or “poor” and it’s usually not until we’re older that we can finally attribute our struggles growing up to what actually was Indigenous (intergenerational) trauma. Sometimes it’s also hard to embrace that we actually are Indigenous once we become an adult after we grew up not fully embracing those identities our whole lives, and we have to kind of grapple with the struggles of our childhoods all over again in a different way. Idk I just wanted to say it always validates me to hear you embrace your Ojibway heritage publicly in your videos and makes me happy to know we’re seen and you’re not afraid to shy away from it, so chi-miigwetch 💖

I think it's because sometimes when you have nothing growing up, your imagination never goes towards fantasizing about what you would do with money. Then when you're an adult who gets money, you're still stuck in a frugal mode AND you don't really even know what to spend it on because you're so adverse to "wasting" money. Trixie bought the rare dolls she couldn't have as a kid, so it's like what else do you need besides making sure everyone in your family has a home?

When Trixie talked about money being able to help people and that’s when money is nice is honestly the truth. Money doesn’t buy happiness but it can buy safety and security for yourself and those around you and that make me happy

This. Money doesn't buy happiness itself but allows the conditions for one to achieve and enable self-satisfaction and happiness - like, yeah, having cash doesn't automatically mean I'm happy, but I'm definitely happier when I have 0 debt, never have to worry about food/bills/groceries, can afford to pay for medical stuff and can spend less time working and being more with family.

Im so silly but i got choked up when she talked about helping her family. Trixie is the same age as my sons, and though he doesn't make her kind of money, my oldest is an electrician in Atlanta and he and his wife are doing well. He always insists on helping me pay for things and my other son helps care for me since I'm disabled (ironically a failed knee replacement). It makes me uncomfortable because that's my job, but at the same time how blessed am I to have sons who love and care for me like Trixie cares for her mom?! ❤

I really appreciate her take on the wealth question. I think it's very important that people can recognize their priviledge ( worked for or otherwise ), and also at the same time be grounded in reality and not claiming to be "jUsT LiKe EvErYoNe eLsE!" I ofc get not wanting to talk about it tho. The wealth gap in this country is astronomical, and I'm sure that just opens the door to people expressing extreme bitterness ( even towards those undeserving )

Hearing you talk about your experience learning French was so lovely, it's so similar to my experience learning French in school! Living in Australia, I basically never get a chance to use it, so I'm nowhere near as fluent as I was 10 years ago. But I'm also lucky enough to be able to visit New Caledonia every couple of years because it's so close, and the people there are so kind and welcoming when I practice my French there. If you're ever in the mood for a tropical vacation, you might like to visit New Caledonia Trixie! Also completely agree that French idioms are so much more fun than English idioms! My personal favourite is our saying "when pigs fly!", which in French is "when chickens have teeth!" 😂
