If you've been paying attention to motorcycles at all this year, then you know that the new Triumph Trident 660 came out swinging and quickly took the middleweight naked sportbike throne. The highlights are its unique triple-cylinder engine, amazing electronics, and reasonable price tag, but you already knew about those. Today, I'll take you on a detailed bow-to-stern walkthrough of the Trident, covering all the little details that you may not have learned from the spec sheet or the mainstream journos.

I think all bikes should have them, they are great. I had a Yamaha xj750 seca back in 1984 which had them as standard and was an excellent feature.

Crazy how they raised the prices while being one of the ONLY companies still passing on shipping/setup charges. It’s now a $10,000 bike less than a year later…

I wish I could have shown the bluetooth features in use, particularly the navigation, but unfortunately it required me to install an app and I didn't have sufficient signal (or time) to get it set up.

Nah, but only because I don't have a need for a middleweight naked; my Speed Twin does 90% of what I'd actually use one for. That said, if I had to get a middleweight naked, the Trident would be my #1 pick. Possibly an XSR700.

Helo Sir.. its been 2 weeks now since I have come across your channel.. love it as you are to the point type of guy.. no frills.. I've had an interceptor 650 which I rode for 20000km wen I decided to go for an upgrade in the form of trident.. Great looking mobike..however after riding it for a day in town n on highways I found some good n bad- Good things first 1. Superb looks 2. Tech heavy 3. Good handling in town 4. Grippy tyres Now the bad part is 1. Stiff ride 2. Clunky gear shift 3. Short gear intervals between 1-2-3. 4. Scope for riding with a pillion is 🤙50:50.. not at all comfortable That's wen I test drove the speed twin.. n now there's no looking back.. Expecting my speed twin in about a weeks time🤩 Looking forward for more touring videos of yours.. Happy n safe riding

Too much of the video is regurgitating stuff that's already available with a single google search. I want to know what YOU think about the features, similar to how you talk about your speed twin. Especially when you talked about the disappointing changes in the latest version compared to what you think it needed. It was actually really insightful and interesting. There are a myriad of other reviews just touting facts with some b-roll. I've seen you do so much more than that. Showing how to use the menus was the only majorly interesting/new thing. There's quite literally only 17 seconds of riding footage.

  • @VanBlamm

Thanks for the feedback! I intended this to be a follow up to my first ride review of the Trident that I posted back in May (kzread.info/dash/bejne/n6CgrdSsirS_pZc.html). I should have made that clear and directed viewers to that video if they hadn't seen it yet. Back when I started making Speed Twin content, I made this exact same type of video and people ate it up, it's actually still my most-viewed video to date. Perhaps that was just lightning in a bottle though.

  • @xaraphyn

Sooo, you're criticising the video for just "regurgitating" stuff that's already out there, while acknowledging the new "insightful and interesting" content and then complain about how there wasn't enough "riding footage", of which there are "quite literally" a thousand videos "available with a simple Google search" ... how about showing a little more gratitude for free content that someone worked really hard on instead of being an ungrateful dink? ... haha, i said hard on ... and dink. F#@! I'm awesome.

  • @VanBlamm

Haha I appreciate your support! That said, I'm always happy to hear what my viewers do and don't want to see from me; my content may be free, but your time isn't. The lesson learned here is that I should try to guide both the information-seekers and opinion-seekers to whichever of my videos is best for them.
