Triumph Jubilee Bonneville (T140VJ) - Light Renovation - Part 14 - Assembly Part 1 - Front End

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

It's happened! At last! Assembly has begun with the front end. No more painting! Errrrr ........... the saga continues. Progress is made though - honest.

Looking good,I think the lower mudguard fixings should be unc bolts, not slotted screwdriver ones, good progress on the rebuild!!

Hi Matt - thanks. Yea you're right - those slotted screws will be replaced with hexagonals.

Those chrome bolts on top of the mudguard should have the nylon washers under the heads, to protect the paint, not between the bracket and mudguard, although on mine I used a thin layer of vinyl sandwiched between them to protect the new paint on the inside. As mentioned in another comment, the bolts holding the stay to the spindle clamps should be UNC hex set screws, but they don't have a nut on the back, as they are only 1/2" long, and should have a spring washer under the heads, not plain.

Hi Rick thanks for the info. I’ll take another look at the nylon washer position. The stay screws I know are wrong which I think I stated in one clip so these will get sorted once I source some UNC bolts. Cheers.
