    There was a lot in the video that struck a chord with me. The Triumph, the jacket and the planes. I grew up with Triumphs in the 60's, a mate of mine at school had a flying jacket and I worked on military aircraft in the 70's. Enjoyable video, thank you.

    I got mine in the post today. It really is quality. The included Battle of Britain Spitfire-embossed garment bag was a nice surprise too.It has so far made hiding it from the missus a little bit easier. Loving the channel ,but between Motone and Goldtop it hasn't half cost me a small fortune since I discovered it!

    I got one for Christmas, Stuart. The only question, where's this been all my life.........? It's simply phenomenal. I've been advised to avoid getting it soaking wet. It weighs a ton if you do, and takes an age to dry. I proofed mine with Goldtop's water repellent balm, so let's hope for the best. Covers the small of your back even when leaning forward stance is adopted on my Thruxton, which is a God send, and I've not had a single issue with the buckle contracting the tank. Pricey? Yes........but worth every penny.

    Could you please enlighten us with the sizing of the jacket? As a very pleased owner of two Goldtop leather jackets, I simply can't decide which size to order. How is the fit? Do u use any armoured base layer underneath?

    @@christosersezer2215 Hi Christos I'd recommend getting a size up from your normal size as shown on Goldtop's guide. They are a bit snug otherwise, and seem to take an age to break in. Personally, I don't use any sort of armour with mine.

    An extremely good price compared to an Eastman which would be more of an exact copy but then this isn't trying to be exact, it's their own design to make it more user friendly, so well done to Goldtop.....Ding! Ding! Scramble!!

    Thanks for showing this Stewart, nice jacket but a bit too warm for where I ride though I'm afraid. I did see some nice items on their site however. Since you like to highlight British motorcycle products and fashions, I would like to suggest another Brit classic, the Barbour International. I picked one up last fall and it has become my go to jacket over the winter. Very versital and it has proved to be a better choice then leather for me this winter season. I have seen pictures of no less a person (and Triumph enthusiast) then Steve McQueen wearing one. Hope you don't mind the suggestion, keep up the good work.

    Hey Stu. So I went to the MOD and requested this jacket be added to my RAF kit list but was told in no uncertain terms to make do with my issued multi-terrain pattern gear. I thought "I know, I'll send Stu's Goldtop video. That'll convince those MOD bods". I received a rather rude reply saying that video I had forwarded was not by a certain Mr Fillingham but featured a rather severe looking submariner (3.02) who had obviously purloined the jacket for dubious enterprises. Ah well .... you can but try sir.

    Looks nice, and I'm sure it's warm Just two concerns..(for motorcycling) 1) in wet weather, i'm sure the wool gets soaked up with water 2) the sleeves seem pretty thick at the wrests...so I supose: no way you can get your gloves over that

  • @stuartfillingham

    @stuartfillingham

    5 жыл бұрын

    Only an inexperienced rider will tuck his sleeves inside his gloves Stiofan. Thats a perfect recipe for filling your gloves up with freezing cold water when it rains! Re the sheepskin soaking up water, leather jackets do exactly the same and some sort of waterproofing compound is sensible to keep it to a minimum there are water proofing sprays that will help the wool to repel water!
