I'm with you on the seat comfort. After the first 45 minute ride I realized my 2022 bobber needed a seat. I purchased one through Corbin fully customizable. It changed the entire riding experience. Even helps with some of the bumps transferring up your spine. Very thick padding.

Every time I hear Corbin seats mentioned it's always in a positive way. Good feedback for the brand 👍

Here is a list of things I addressed on my 2024 Triumph Bobber. Suspension too stiff: I installed a YSS adjustable (Preload and rebound) shock. Seat too hard: I installed a quilted padded Triumph seat. Reach too far from the seat: I installed up-and-back Triumph bar raisers. Installed forward foot controls. The sound is underwhelming: I installed a Motone X-pipe and tuned the ECU. Gearing too high. I am planning to install 16T front and 39T rear sprockets to lower gearing.

Hi mate good review. I’ve had mine for 2 years (bobber black) yes the suspension is too hard I’ve changed to a Hagon and it’s much better. I found after about 1K the bike settles down and is smoother. Also I found paddock stands really hard going, so I have a Sealey scissor lift. I have the brown quilted seat and I want a more comfy one. Have a look at the Beardedbobber his channel is really good 👍🏻 Looking forward to more vids

Cheers Chris. It's certainly more awake now I can rev it harder. I have looked at the scissor stands. That may be a future purchase.👍 One this is for sure, I won't run out of things to tinker with any time soon.

@@cc-ww4yk I can recommend Motone customs for bits always excellent. Another channel is Stuart Fillingham, he’s done loads (Motone mods) to his bobber. If you change for X pipe etc what about the warranty??

@@chrisclemmett6458 I personally will probably keep the cat. I have heard the bike with British customs pipes and the cat in place and it was just the right amount of noise for me. Without the cat it's a whole new level and I'm not sure I need it that loud. But everyone will have their own preference. Which is one of the great things about these bikes. There's so many different ways to go.

Good review buddy !!! The 2022 Triumph Bobber is my first ever bike (owned it for 1 month) so I am happy to find more experienced riders review on the bike. I've bottom-out a few times also and yes it makes you drive more carefully on bad roads. I got the Triumph stitched seat installed before the bike was delivered to me, so I can't tell you if it makes a difference in comfort from the original seat, but I ride a maximum 2 hours before I get tired :) I have to say that I am really satisfied with my choice so far. If you are a short rider like me, this bike is perfect. I just got the 600 Miles (1000km) service, so its time for me to see what she's got in the belly ;) I love the sound also, but I plan on upgrading the pipes. I love the idea of the Jeckill&Hyde but they are $$. Not sure if the Vance&hines slip ons are worth it (compared to the originals) if I keep the CAT in place. We are highly regulated in Quebec (Canada). Thanks again, and I will be watching the other videos :)

Cheers for the message. The J&H pipes look amazing, but that price point is eye watering 😄 I'm not a huge fan of the V&H pipes. Have a look at the British customs slash cut pipes if you are looking at changing the pipes. They sound great even with the cat left in. I'm probably going to get a pair for myself soon. Glad you are enjoying riding. Once you start you'll never stop and there are some amazing places in Canada 👍

@@cc-ww4yk I've done the x pipe from Tec Bike parts (de-cat) and the straight drags from British Customs. My neighbours hate me. Harley riders hate me. Job done.

How are you finding it as a first bike? I'm just about to do my test and love the look of the bobber. For me, I wondered whether I should get something with a little less power before upgrading.

@@richjjones86 I don't regret stepping up to the 1200 cc right away. I was confident in my riding abilities and It didn't make sense for me to wait 1 or 2 years of riding experience to simply buy another more powerful bike. The only down side for me is the suspension. My back hurts and the roads are bad in my area.

@@richjjones86 I've had a mixture of bikes. This has plenty of power and can get you in trouble it you want it too. But it's far more linear and predictable than a sports bike or a supernaked. Nothing to be worried about I'd say. My 600 is quicker/more likely to get me into trouble. See if you can ride one and you'll instantly know if it suits you or not. 👍

Oh, and while I'm poking my nose in here (thank you 1200 for your time making the content) a little something for those of you modding pipes/decatting whatever. When you decat and change pipes or for the more adventurous doing an airbox removal, the bike will run and sound like a bag of dustbins being dragged behind Steptoe's scrap cart. Do not fear! The ECU on the bike can and will learn the new set up. It's the 12 minute tune. Start the bike on the button only - no blipping, no revving, pull the clutch in and ONLY touch the starter button (you can let go of the clutch now). Leave it to get to temperature - you'll hear the fan come on. Leave it for 12 minutes, doesn't need to be exact, over is ok then turn the bike off. Leave it to cool down, overnight is good. You'll be amazed at the difference it makes.

About the seat, I didn't mind the stock so much. So, I thought I would love an aftermarket. I bought the British Customs seat. Not the greatest choice. It's more firm than the original. It looks great, but rides worse. I wouldn't suggest it.

Good feedback. I've seen a few that look good but are more about the looks than comfort. I was out with a few guys yesterday and they said my seat (newer model) had more padding than their stock seat (older model).

Hi, great review. I've ordered one for delivery in Sep. First non sports bike I'll have owned and am really excited about it. The only thing that concerns me is the suspension and whether I should bite the bullet and upgrade to the Fox from the get go. What do you think?

  • @cc-ww4yk

    @cc-ww4yk

Hi Bob. Thanks for the feedback. I'm sure everyone will have a different opinion on it. I was going to go for the fox shock but wanted to see what it was like stock so I'd know if there was an appreciable difference. From everyone who has upgraded to a better shock the concensus seems to be it's a big improvement. I'd suggest you look at the other shocks too as there are a few different options. Price vs versatility. When I upgrade mine I will do a review. But I think you'll have your bike by then.

@@cc-ww4yk Don't do the Fox. I'm still using the original shock and it's fine for me if you let it bed in (I'm 16 stone - yes, I'm taller lying down!) If you let the original shock enough time to bed in it's fine. If you really need to upgrade then try the Wilburs shock, but have a look at the Triumph Bobber forum there's loads of info on there (member but not affiliated in any way) Cheers! ;-)

Hey Bob, I hope you enjoy your bobber as much as I have mine. I think the suspension upgrade would also depend on your size and weight. At 5’6”, 155 lbs., I find it pretty comfortable. I’m also 64 yo with bad knees and back. I do avoid pot holes, and stand up on pegs sometimes, and I only ride for about 1 hour out and 1 hour home. The rather stiff suspension is not built for long distance comfort, but for short distances, it’s kinda fun to feel the road so viscerally! I actually love the seat and the ergonomics with mid controls works really good for me. It actually feels quite nimble and sporty/ torque for a bobber/ cruiser. Enjoy your ride 😎🏍

If ALL your mates are on the triples how boring are they 🤣 the bobber has great character. Iv got a triumph speedmaster and a bonneville t100 too. There all great bikes.
