As a 50 year old guy I grew up on metal and have loved Celtic Frost since I was 15 in 1988. My musical taste has become wide and more eclectic as the years have passed, but this is not just a case of nostalgia, but phenomenal to hear how great the legendary Tom Warrior still sounds and how passionate and tight his Triptykon band mates sound to deliver these classics with such heaviness and precision. Absolute blinder of a set!

I was not able to get hold of any Celtic Frost until late '85. I had heard Morbid Tales on the Metal Shop out Pittsburgh in late '85 I think and found the Morbid Tales shortly afterward. The Metal Shop from Pittsburgh was incredible. I was a small town West Virginia kid who got exposed to bands like Venom, Virgin Steele, Manilla Road, Wasp, Manowar, Savatage, Exciter, Devil Childe, Accept, Motorhead, Metallica, White Wolf, amd even local Pittsburgh bands like Assassin, and Axtion. To top it off, I got to hear a WVU radio show that had unerground punk, new wave 80's industrial and goth. I heard Cryptic Slaughter, D.I., Black Flag, Circle Jerks, Einsturzende Neubaten, Skinny Puppy, Black Mass, The Avengers, The Ugly Americans, Gene Loves Jezebel, Birdsongs of the Mesazoic, Mighty Sphincter, and Depeche Mode, All in 1985 into '86. The best music education imaginable.

I just love that they're not using the Triptykon B standard tuning to play these and tuned higher. It doesn't sound like E standard on the album, maybe Eb or D. But it sounds SO much better and helps the riffs shine the way they're supposed to.

What a performance from a true legend. I remember buying the cassette of Morbid tales in 1985 when i was 15. I was completely blown away by the melodic heaviness and raw power. I'm 54 now and still listen to Celtic Frost and Toms band Triptykon. Ear bleeding bliss.

I saw them perform HELLHAMMER full set in London last year and can't wait to see this Celtic Frost performance at BLOODSTOCK 🇬🇧 in three weeks time, as some have mentioned and I will say the same thing, i see this as Celtic Frost, even though some will moan it isn't, but as long as Tom is on guitar and vocals I consider this Celtic Frost even though Tom says it's not really. For those of us who never got to see CF back in the day this is gold dust, and for the UK fans it looks like so Far BLOODSTOCK is the only UK date for this, I CAN'T WAIT 🇬🇧🤘🤘🤘
