Innocent until proven guilty.... (or until there is enough evidence to have a judge revoke bond). If you can't prove them to be a danger to society or flight risk, they're going to go free until a guilty verdict is read or they violate the terms of their bond agreement.

Comments like yours proves why we have the issues in our country that we have. The average citizen doesn't understand anything about the country they live in, it's laws or how it's government functions. As the video clearly stated, they did not want to release him, the judge didn't get up that morning and say gee I want to free a murderer. The law dictated his release. Laws are in place because emotions cannot be trusted. Most times, they make sure people not yet convicted of a crime do not have their rights violated with unconstitutional incarceration. Unfortunately, sometimes those same laws cause bad people to also be released. Don't hate the judge, go after your congressman and request the laws be changed.

Yet ANOTHER ignorant person who has no clue how the law and the justice system works. School is in session dude. DA's have to work WITHIN the law when it comes to releasing suspects, sentencing guidelines, etc. It is NOT their personal choice. Those laws are passed by the respective state legislatures. Your ELECTED representatives! If you have such unreasonable fear of criminal suspects before they go to trial, you can lobby your state legislature to change the law. Or you can run for office yourself and if you win, write a series to bills to change the law. The problem is, you'll have to get a majority of the rest of the legislature to go along with you and VOTE for it. But bear in mind, there are PLENTY of American citizens like myself who do NOT live in fear and believe in and will defend the justice system the way the founders and framers set it up.

Do you have any idea how many people think that suspects are entitled to bail? The amendment states that EXCESSIVE bail shall not be required. It does not entitle you TO bail! There is just SO much fear out there these days. Sadly, when people get afraid, they tend to either be willing to give up constitutional rights and/or make their own laws. You're right. The burden of proof IS on the government. And they have to prove guilt BEYOND a reasonable doubt. Prior to that, people are presumed innocent (in mot cases). But some of these people bring out the tar and feathers just because the cops arrest them!

Here in Wichita,ks our DA and judges keep letting murderers out on bond because of their rights, but my child who has been detained in Juvenile detention & he did not kill anyone might i add is denied bond because kids dont qualify for Bonds they dont have those rights crazy how these systems are set up and the people who allow this to keep happening.

How about punishment for crimes.. no deals.. no bail... pay your debt to society... then decide how your going to live out the rest of your life knowing there is no slap on the wrist waiting
