TRIP REPORT | Scandinavian Airlines A330 SAS Plus | Newark (EWR) to Copenhagen (CPH) + SAS Lounge

Join me on my journey back from New York as I fly with SAS from Newark to Copenhagen! Originally booked in SAS Go (Economy), I decided to take advantage of the SAS bidding process, and bid 16,100 points for an upgrade to SAS Plus (Premium Economy). Just a few hours before departure, I received an email saying I got the upgrade! This is my very first time experiencing SAS Plus! Was it worth it? Well, if you can snag an upgrade for under 20,000 points, I'd definitely say yes! In my case, it was an especially great deal since the SAS Go cabin was nearly full, while the SAS Plus cabin was less than half full. A tip for future trips: Keep an eye on ExpertFlyer. If you see Economy filling up quickly, it's a good idea to bid for an upgrade, especially if SAS Plus has some available seats.

Last summer, I flew economy plus with Scandinavian airlines, and I rather enjoyed it. It is my childhood and my favorite airline. I especially enjoyed the amenity kit, much larger IFE screen and the bigger seat. Food wasn’t bad either. We flew round-trip from Newark airport to Copenhagen, which, obviously, you did here as well too. We probably flew on the same plane.❤❤

A great video. I just booked PE to NYC from Stockholm on the A330, with a return in BIZ on the A321 to CPH. I'm looking forward to seeing what the PE product is like. Since it's a daytime flight to the USA, I don't need a bed, so I'm saving that for the return. Having the full-blown SAS biz experience on a narrowbody will be an experience of it's own as well. Was that the last row you were in?

Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, I was in the last row. In my opinion, SAS Plus is perfect for a daytime flight, so saving Business for the night time return is a great idea. Flying international lie-flat business class on a narrowbody is an experience, for sure. If you travel solo and select a seat, it's good to remember that seats on even rows are the best seats in Business, by far, as these are single "throne seats". Unfortunately, unless you are a SAS Eurobonus Gold member or higher, there is a quite hefty fee to reserve these seats. Enjoy your flights!

Thank you for sharing 😊 I'm considering booking the same seat, 27 A. Were you able to pull the seat back for sleeping position as much as the rows in front of you?

Yes! 27A is a great seat, and since there is only a divider curtain behind you, the seat has just as much recline as other seats in the cabin. Also, since the SAS Plus cabin goes to the forward lavatories, and the SAS Go cabin uses the aft lavatories, the traffic past this seat is minimal.

The crazy thing to me is when I can sometimes understand some Swedish. It still catches me off guard. Anyway Takk for videoen.
