What I loved about Ataturk Airport was the... Turkish Delight sampling stations where sales assistants would make you limitlessly eat those fantastic candies. Valid point on crowds. Transfers used to be quite intense.

Never managed to snap anything free there, quite the contrary: one of the most expensive places I’ve visited. But I hope the freebies return!😁 Transfers were a nightmare, specially the lines at the security check. A good improvement now, just long walking distances.. Thanks for watching!

Great Trip Report as always Buddy! :D I flow with tk in 2019 to Stockholm and it was a good experience. here in Israel Turkish Airlines continues to operate up to 10 daily flights between Istanbul and Tel Aviv, they are very popular here. I cant wait for the next video!

10x a day is absolutely insane just showing how big the Israeli market is. I was going to be on the inaugural Emirates flight from Dubai when it got postponed. But seeing the countless flights suddenly from Tel Aviv to Dubai was insane and I predict it’s going to be even greater when Emirates joins the market. I think they’ll be perfectly able to fill a couple of A380’s a day.. Time will tell! Thanks for watching!

Airlines give fancy names to their products (Apartments, Q-suite, Residence, studio, etc etc..) so why can’t we do the same with the loo! 😁

For the next Video try the Turkish airlines a350 900 flight from Istanbul to Dubai which is parked while filming in the airport terminal building next to it which also goes to Dubai as well compared to the b777 300er if necessary.

Great trip report as always. I recently tried TK LHR-IST-MNL on their Boeing 777-300ER and Airbus 350-900. Although my inbound flight from LHR was delayed for an hour and a half, I still managed to get into my outbound flight to MNL running like Usain Bolt at IST airport. I think their food is superior to the middle eastern carriers.

Thanks for the comment Georel! I’ve also managed to run like Usain on some occasions😛. Food is not bad, but it’s just repetitive.. Always the same.. (for me at least). I rarely eat the same when I fly Emirates. And the product on the same route was much weaker too. I’ll try longer flight some time!

Thanks Lana! I appreciate your comment. The planes I know as I have live air traffic app on my phone. And if I can’t see it there on time, I’ll write down the destination or look it up in the video and they do a search where that plane was going to.. Trust me it’s a hell lot of work but worth it!😁

Excellent video. 3-3-3 on the 777 is the best, as it should be. Legroom is very nice and overall a nice experience. My concern is the lack of fresh air and air nozzles. I think it is possible that many prefer their a350 or the 787 instead of the 777 because of this, and I also because it is not easy. But hey, solid experience. Wating for the next video! By the way, do you have plans to try Jetblue a321lr transatlantic London-New york in the economy? It is worthy opposition to the airlines who have good economy products!.

Hey Sergio, thanks for the comment. The air nozzles are optional, most other airlines have them on the B777. Turkish A330’s also did not have them, so I guess it’s a fleet wide decision. Of course I’ll consider Jetblue transatlantic, just have to find an occasion where I need to fly between NYC and London!

Couple of thoughts- with the advent of Middle Eastern carriers reaching more diverse European destinations with A350 and Dreamliners why go via Istanbul with the risk of an additional flight. Also, a trick re getting the whole row. If you have a window seat on boarding deliberately take middle seat. If flight crowded and someone comes simple apologise and take your window seat. If flight empty and no one else on row, no one will come and sit on aisle seat if you are in middle seat. Once airborne hog all 3 seats !

Hey Richard, smart trick😎. I have a few of my own. At the gate I try to be the last to board and ask the agent what the available rows are, or I just walk in last and see what’s available. All frequent fliers have some tricks of their own, I’ve heard plenty😁

I takes quite some time to find some nice songs for the video’s, glad it was worth it!

I think you were generous with the food assessment. It looks so boring and all the items are 'dry', no saucy - gravy item to bind things together. It's their type of food but especially in the dry cabin environment it will go a long way if they incorporate a stewy, curry type side. Their business class meals look great tho as seen in other channels. Waiting for your business class trip with them!

Hey Devanjith. I don’t consider it great, I actually said the rice was dry and the food repetitive. I can eat it, and the kofta tasted chargrilled, but that’s about it. Far from other airline quality. I’ll fly Business with them but only for the channel, I know I don’t like it much😅

im tottaly agree with your opinions about istanbul new airport,but the oldest airport was perfect for passengers cuz it was not so much big,transportation was better,and i think it was so enjoyful pleace for flying we are missing the old airport :( our government didn't have to close it :(

I think there still are some cargo flights operating to the old airport.. Are they planning to open it for some low cost flights perhaps or something? The old one was a nice size but veeery crowded as TK became massive so I understand how they had to move. But I wonder just how much more TK is planning to grow, I’m shocked!

The knowledge of the aircraft just came since a kid, I was always to interested to know them all! Job and life wise I do various stuff, I work in the hospitality and tourism industry in a multinational, personally I have some properties to manage in Europe and I come from a multicultural family so family travel takes me to different countries, such as the Netherlands, Spain and Croatia. I could go on and on! 😝

20:58 there is no tail camera on the 777. I think those flashing lights your referring to are just the strobe lights

Hey Bizet, the B777-300ER does have camera’s at the back which focus on the main landing gear. This allows pilots to check the location of the main gear when taxiing as it’s so far behind them. The light that I mean is the one coming from the flap fairing under the wing. It illuminates the main landing gear.

Hey Sahil, I made my choice specifically to take off in daytime, otherwise it’s not fun. The next flight was on the A350 but at night so I skipped! The equipment to Dubai keeps changing all the time from B777-300ER, to B787-9, to A330-200/300 and A350, so you never really know..

@@TheLayoverAviation True. I wanted a 5 hr layover to enjoy the IGA lounge at IST as well. So my incoming flight from Amsterdam was the 11:35 departure and I took the night flight out. I understand the daytime flight choice. :) Even we were given a pasta/beef choice for the meal. I looooved the meal that we got for the first flight from AMS. Chicken and mashed potato with some sauce.

Hey! Is it all one ticket with Turkish Airlines? Cause then you don’t.. The only difference is when you have two separate bookings with 2 different airlines. I’ve done that in Istanbul and it takes at least 1:30.

Trust me, this airport is waaaay bigger then Doha or Dubai, and the potential is much higher. So it’s not even competing soon anymore. They basically fly everywhere in the world, it’s mental. Dubai needs a whole new airport to be able to keep it up, which we’ll see if that will happen at all this decade.. Thanks for watching!

It’s an optional choice to install for airlines, and unfortunately Turkish Airlines isn’t a fan of it. It costs more maintenance and it doesn’t regulate cabin temperature well.. But it comes at the cost of people not getting that extra air if they want to..

Hey!

Turkish Airlines onboard meals quality is far better than Emirates, especially in Business class. Plus, TK still offers 3-3-3 in Economy, unlike Emirates. IFE on Emirates, on the other side, is much better. Personally, I find Emirates one of the most overrated airlines out there: the fact that they have cabin crew of different nationalities, makes the quality of the onboard service just very unpredictable.

I don’t know, I guess we all have our own preferences. I believe that Emirates offers a better product on the same flight, I’ll show it soon as I’m quite regular on the route. Like I mentioned, I’ve been served the same meal on TK for many years. And cabin crew wise, the last time I had a hiccup on EK was 9 years years ago and on TK I just won’t make any comments on the matter😅

Don't mind the fixed menu for food, especially when Turkish puts out high quality meals. That food looks better than what they serve in US airlines' J class. For what it's worth, Korean Air has been serving the same dish for like 20 years. The bibimbap is so mindlessly and massively produced, they have every element comes in custom made packaging (not thermal printed).

The Korean Air Bibimbap, you’re totally right!! That is also a classic that has never changed! I’m flying Korean in the next months and let’s see if it still there. Turkish does put some good meals, but still not the best I’ve had. Let’s see what else they serve in my coming flights with them 😁

In my opinion Turkish is such a overrated airline. I know so many people who have flown with them and said that the service and the product is so inconsistent. Sometimes you get to fly on their newest product, or when you don't have luck you end up in an former Jet Airways Plane... Istanbul Airport maybe new and big, but this doesn't mean it is good for passenger transit. I've heard that the Staff at this Airport is really rude. If I would fly to Asia, I would definitely choose Emirates, Qatar, Singapore or Lufthansa. Thanks for the Trip Report:)

I unfortunately have to agree.. Out of over 40 flights with Turkish I only had 1 where I said, ok.. nice! Even on this experience I encountered plenty of rude people, but what to do. I expected it.. Had to fly here because of many requests.. But I much rather have all those airlines you mentioned!

@@emrefifty5281 Offensive?😂 These videos are there to form an opinion. As I’ve already said, this is just my own and you don’t have to agree. But you don’t always have to try everything out by yourself just to have a own opinion at the end, when many people told me their flight with Tk wasn’t really great, I try to avoid them in the future and this is my right to do it.

Just be careful Turkish some People at Airport are racist. Some Turkish people at Airport push in. I have met nice Turkish people and the worst it sad the some Turkish people give their country a bad name.
