TRIP REPORT | Icelandair 767-300ER | Economy Class | Oslo (OSL) to Reykjavík-Keflavík (KEF)

At one point during the covid pandemic, Iceland was one of the only countries that I could safely travel to. I booked a ticket to Iceland in June 2020, but a few days before departure, the ticket was cancelled, with a voucher given, and (understandably) no other alternatives for travel. Now, three years later, that voucher was about to expire, so I needed to use it. What better way to use it than a weekend trip to Iceland?
The original ticket was scheduled to depart OSL on a 737-800 operated by GetJet. However, this ended up changing, as my flight was cancelled once again, just like 3 years ago. A few hours before departure a few weeks back, my flight was cancelled, and I was rebooked the next day on a 767-300ER, operated by Icelandair. Icelandair handled the cancellation situation beautifully, and set me up in a hotel at the airport with dinner and breakfast included. The hotel was walking distance to one of the best spotting locations at OSL, so I even got in a few hours of planespotting before departure.
So two cancellations and an aircraft change later, I am finally headed to Iceland, on a 2.5 hour widebody flight. Join me to see my experience!

It's a pretty expensive airline (at least from here in Italy to Iceland) but it's seems worth every penny!

It is very expensive! I never find Icelandair to be a good option for my travels, but having a voucher forced me to fly Icelandair, and it just about covered the whole trip. It is nice, however, and also a great option for transatlantic flights!

This was the 767-300er plane that was once part of "The Pride of Africa" 🌍, Kenya Airways fleet for a few years in the early 2000s. Love this comfortable, safe and versatile airplane ✈.
