And it is a daily flight! (A346 or A350). The reason: the cargo that these airplanes can carry in such a short flight. BA does the same, operating a daily flight to Madrid with B777 (sometimes even 2).

You should make a little research before writing about something that you clearly don't know... Check flight BA460 for example. Operated daily with B777-200. www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/ba460

Haha Well! At least I see now that all the research trying to solve the quality problems was successful. I don't know if you will be able to watch it, but I've included 1 clip without any colour correction, just to show how was the "over-saturation". You can find it in minute 9:32 (I've reduced the saturation when editing that clip until 60% of the original, but I think that the unreal colours are still visible). I notice her perfectly haha Also the guy next to her was taking a picture later... fans? I don't think so haha Just impressed by the size of the A346, when probably, they were expecting an A320 size or so. By the way, as soon as I'll finish answering the comments, in a few minutes, I'll go watch the A320NEO report! :)

You strove to solve the problem spending lots of your time and you did it successfully! 👍 Actually I didn't notice immediately that differences in that clip, but now, as you wrote me, I noticed a little. It's not a big matter because you were not filming outside or a full aircraft with natural or airport background, so that short clip is acceptable considering that the other clips are perfect. Ahah, firstly I thought they were your fans who recognised you! But later I thought they were maybe on the biggest aircraft they've ever taken 😃

Muchas gracias, Henry! La verdad es que era al avión que le tenía más ganas. Volar en un A340-600 era mi objetivo para este año en el canal y por fin lo hemos conseguido. Pues aún tienes tiempo para volar en el A346 en esta ruta. Por lo menos hasta dentro de 1 o 2 años se seguirá operando de forma diaria con este avión. :) Saludos!

Ojalá los nuevos modelos de avión que est´n saliendo al mercado siguiensen sonando así... Aunque desde el punto de vista de contaminación acústica son mucho más eficientes, obviamente.

Es increible volar en el A340-600. Un avión magnífico. Era el avión que más ganas le tenía. Incluso más que un A380 ó B747. Y por fin lo hemos conseguido! jaja :)

Thanks, Steven! :) It's great. Absolutely agree. In Spain, we have some short routes operated by long-haul planes, mainly with AirEuropa, that uses the A332 on the Madrid-Barcelona route (500km) and to Tenerife and Gran Canaria islands (A330 and B787).

Amazing tripreport of the A340-600, my favorite aircraft! Thank you! I was lucky already, as I flew on these 4 times over the Atlantic with Lufthansa and twice with Iberia. Just amazing, want to do that again asap (last time was 2014!)

jajajaja Risa de nervios y emoción... justo voy a viajar un asiento adelante 22 A de México a Madrid, y buscaba en todo internet que tal el lugar si tenía ventana, si se reclina, vista de cabina, y vienes tú a solucionarlo todo. Joder! mil gracias, seguid así en verdad ayudas y orientas a muchos.

Pues la verdad es que tienes un muy buen asiento, de hecho, mejor que el 23 en el que fui yo. El 22 estaba mejor alineado con la ventanilla, de modo que no tienes nada más que girar la cabeza y ahí a tienes. (En el mío, el 23, tenía que moverme hacia delante para ver bien por ella). Disfruta del vuelo. Ya me gustaría a mi hacer algunos vuelos largos como esos, pero por ahora me conformo con vuelos por Europa, volando de vez en cuando en estos aviones de largo recorrido en rutas cortas. @@OnBoardHD Pues estaré volando aprox. 11 horas en este larguísimo avión y que es de los más bonitos además, una lástima que iberia ya los vaya a jubilar por los nuevos #a350 (muy sofisticados pero me mató esa combinación de filas 3-3-3 a veces uno quiere viajar solo con su pareja jaj) Saludos de regreso.

Totalmente de acuerdo. La configuración 3-3-3 es de lo más incomodo que hay. Al menos en la 2-4-2, si viajas con alguien, pueden ir los 2 juntos. O sencillamente, es más fácil salir al pasillo...

Loved it!! Keep up the good work. and I agree this is of my favourite planes as well! - I have flown Andres Segovia flew Caracas-Madrid back in 2007! :D The last one I boarded London - Madrid was Pio Baroja EC-JPU. I really hope I can fly on "ciudad de Mexico" of Iberia sometime soon. Last A346 built apparently.

Thanks so much!! Well, Iberia is planning the retire the last Airbus A340-600 in 2022, so still plenty of time for another flight! I would say they will maintain these A346 flying to Heathrow till the end. They use them in this route mainly for the cargo that they can carry and there's no other plane in the fleet with bigger cargo holds! Enjoy your flight! :)

Amazing video, man! The A340-600 is a marvelous aircraft. I had the opportunity to fly on one with Iberia as well, and it was on the inbound flight of the one you took (MAD-LHR) :D

Gracias por el video, me ha gustado como me gusta todo lo que tenga que ver con la aviación. He volado en ese mismo modelo de avión (A340) de San José de Costa Rica a Madrid en 2016 y efectivamente es un equipo muy cómodo. Aunque de unos meses para acá (antes de pandemia) se había sustituido por el A330 y unas semanas por el fabuloso A350, el avión más moderno de Iberia y de la aviación en general actualmente. Thanks, Blake. :) If you are able to choose a front economy row, go for the 22 (instead of 23 like in this video). The window was far better aligned with the seat. Nevertheless, if you only have the chance of getting row 23, take it, is a good one too.

Esta librea, con más espacio en blanco, lo hace parecer aún más grande si cabe. Es que, de hecho, es largísimo: 75 metros! jaja M alegra que te haya gustado! Saludos! :)

He viajado en el mismo vuelo con iberia y me parece asombroso ir con un pedazo de avión en un vuelo corto. Si sabes de aviones (para comprar el billete) y tienes dinero puedes ir con la cabina business de este avión y no con una cabina business de un 320 por ejemplo. Gracias de nuevo Iberia y gracias por el video :)

Totalmente de acuerdo. Si bien es cierto, que volar en el A340 suele ser más caro que en el A320. No se exactamente los motivos... pues la mayoría de los pasajeros no se fijan en el modelo de avión, y si lo hacen no saben que un A340 es mejor para este vuelo que un A320...

Es un avión precioso. A mi me encanta. Tristemente, sera retirado en el año 2022 por Iberia. Lo cierto es que no son muy rentables en cuando a consumo de fuel... 😔😔

I'm a new member here, however, I've been meeting various similar reviews like that, this in specific was the more single and beautiful at the same time. As much as, the 8:39 now is the wallpeper from my cell phone because "Which magnificent view at sunset". Certainly, the Airbus A340 is a wonderfully plane and the company Ibéria make regular flights for here in Brazil, but I don't the privilege to fly it yet. Great Video, like and more a new sub for your channel. Good Job

Brilliant video! You got a really nice engine view on an A340-600, especially at sunset. You're super lucky to fly on it because many airlines are retired it on their fleet nowadays. Thanks a lot! Unfortunatelly, there won't be more times on the Iberia A346... they were completely retired already. They were planned to be retired between 2021 and 2022... but the pandemic accelerated all the proccess and they are all retired. =(

The only options currently available in Europe are the Lufthansa and SWISS A343s and Plus Ultra A343 in Spain. 😕

It was the main objective in the channel for this year. Now, the next one is to fly in the Boeing 717, that will be done in late-September, with Volotea! :)

Surounding the camera with some clothes or the other hand (if the cabin light doesn't hit the window, there aren't reflections). Also recording close to the edge of the window. Over that, with a lot of edition 😅

Muy buen vídeo Lucas, pero tengo una duda, ya que nunca he ido a Europa, acá en America es un poco distinto. ¿Por qué si es un vuelo de 2 horas vuela un A340? Lo normal acá es que hasta los vuelos de 4 horas vuelen los A320, A321 o si no los B737. Saludos

Muchas gracias! La razón de este vuelo con A340 no es otra que una enorme demanda de carga entre ambos aeropuertos. Las bodegas del A340 permiten llevar mucha carga, de ahí que se use todos los días para el vuelo de las 16:00. British Airways, por su parte, también usa B777 para volar a Madrid una vez al día. A veces 2 incluso. La razón es la misma, la carga que estos enormes aviones pueden llevar en las bodegas.

Great video! I didn't know that Iberia uses 340 in European destinations, I will try to book a flight soon. Also I didn't know you have to pay for service in Iberia... Thanks for sharing those quality videos!

In long-haul flights the service is included. By the way, in case you are interested, British Airways also has 1 daily flight to Madrid with B777-200/300.

Thanks! The reason is because of the cargo load of this plane. There is a huge cargo demand between London and Madrid. British Airways also flies, daily, a B777 to Madrid (some days twice).

There are around 20 flights per day between Madrid and London (Iberia, Iberia Express, Ryanair, British Airways, Air Europa, Norwegian and Easyjet). BA and IB use A346 and B777 in some frequencies because of the cargo demand.

"maybe this route is in high demand and always full?" The answer I gave you is more complete than just a "yes" I think. IB has around 5 to 6 daily flights to LHR and 2 to LGW from Madrid. One of them with A340/A350.

The take-off run seems very slow, altought the fuel tanks must be almost empty for a so short flight. Anyway it's stunning to see a so large bird for an intra-european flight!

One had a chance to fly with an A340. It was some kind of redirected flight I think. We were about 80-90 passengers in the whole plane. Very comfortable plane as I remember.

Muchas gracias!!! Pues en el caso de Iberia (y general, todas las aerolíneas) en el momento de seleccionar el vuelo que vas a comprar, te informan en algún lado del modelo de avión programado para la ruta. Lo cual no quiere decir que al 100% vaya a ser ese, pues siempre puede haber cambios, pero suele ser bastante preciso. Saludos! :)

En la web de Iberia te indica que modelo de avión está programado para cada vuelo que venden. El vuelo a Londres desde Madrid con Iberia de las 15:50 (aprox) es siempre con A340 o A350.

Hoy has visto 2 de mis aviones comerciales favoritos el A340-600 y el BAC concorde ,un saludo

El A346 también está entre mis preferidos, sin duda alguna. Ahora, el objetivo será volar en el de Lufthansa o Qatar Airways, aunque eso sí que ya es mucho más complicado... jaja

Hermoso el 340-600 . Mi hermana voló el 29/8 en el vuelo 6844 de Iberia . Buenos Aires Madrid.

Yo he cruzado el Atlántico una vez, en el año 2012, para unas vacaciones en Cancún. Por ahora ninguna vez más.... me encantaría cruzarlo con frecuencia, pero el tema de los pasaportes, junto con un presupuesto bastante reducido... lo ponen dificil.

La verdad es que, en este caso, no fue suerte, fui yo el que buscó y seleccionó los vuelos operados por A350 y A340! jaja Me quedo con el A340. Es uno de mis aviones favoritos. Lo cual no quiere decir que el A350 no me guste mucho. Sin duda me gusta. Pero el A340-600 tiene algo especial. Quizás el ser uno de los últimos aviones que veremos con 4 motores...

Mmm I think so. I mean, without the COVID crisis they would, for sure. Now I don't know. But I would say yes. A340/A330/A350 are the ones used on this flight.

Where can I find those short flights with those big planes? And where can I find cheap flights? I want to fly more😱

Well, there are not so much. Other options are, for example, the Canary islands with AirEuropa from Madrid. They use very often the A330 and B787. For the cheapest flights, always buy your tickets in the airline website. If you want to check the lowest prices among all airlines: use Skyscanner website.

PlaneVideos An other short widebody flight in Europe: Finnair has a daily A350 flight to LHR, often BA codeshare gives the best prices, on LHR-HEL-TLL. You can find a flight from Madrid to Barcelona operated by Air Europa with an Airbus A330, I think it´s daily ;)

Yo me hago un par de preguntas 1..como sabía los destinos de los aviones que estaban en Londres y estando desde el avión.. 2...cuando van a aterrizar en Madrid como sabe de la pista si es de noche..

Mientras estaba en el avión no lo sabía. Comprobando luego la matrícula en FlightRadar24 tienes todas sus rutas. Respecto a las pistas de Madrid... he volado unas 100 veces. Me se las aproximaciones de dia , de noche, despejado y nublado. Además de que he visto muchas veces las cartas de aproximación. A parte de eso, me informo.

Principalmente por carga. Los A340 tienen una enorme capacidad, especialmente en rutas cortas como esta, en las que el combustible que llevan deja muchísimo peso disponible para meter carga. British Airways vuela una o 2 veces por día con B777 o B787 por el mismo motivo en esta ruta.

Pues sí. No estoy seguro de si es la primera, pero es de las rutas internacionales más transitadas desde Madrid.

How do you get a 340 for such a short flight??? I'm planning a trip from Spain to Japan and it is impossible to find any flight in a 4 motor plane, you can't imagine my frustration

Se puede añadir un poquito más de eso, sí. Pero es que tampoco puedo hacer un vídeo de más de 15 minutos. Comprimir un proceso de unas 3h en 15 minutos es lo que tiene jaja De todos modos, el billete iba en el móvil. Hace tiempo que no llevo billetes "físicos" jaja

Cuantas versiones posee el A340? y en qué se diferencian?
